Neanderthal-The Rebirth...Tonight 8/20/2006 at 9pm

Tonight the science channel is showing "Neanderthal the rebirth" on "The science channel". They will examine the fossils of the Neanderthal and discuss prominent ideas about where the neanderthal went and how it died out..Or IF it died out or possibly bred with humans.

For those of you actually doubting the existance of the Neanderthal, This is a great show to watch. Although it will be on the science channel and might be a bit too difficult for those people(who doubt Neanderthal existed) to understand...I have hope.

Ever since the first Neanderthal bones were found, they have posed fundamental questions for scientists. Were these beings almost identical to us, or were they crude and primitive creatures, an evolutionary dead end?

P.S. This has nothing to do with religion so do not move it to the religion area.

Ding!  Sybil you are psychic.  :)  Actually I wasn't home, but I doubt I would have watched it anyway.

I searched for it manually and through Tivo and couldn't find it.

I wonder if "the science channel" is unavailable where I live?

I see from the link it is on 4 times tomorrow and once on the 26th.

I tried entering the Discovery channel w/Neanderthal and that didn't come up w/this program.

Please help

Neanderthal had a cranial capacity higher than modern humans.

Male adult stood about 5'5" and was very muscular.

They were able to speak.

They lived in Europe and north Asia.

They died out around 35,000 years ago.

Reconstruction of Neanderthal Childs skull.

What a neanderthal man would of looked like.(From the show)

Maybe it's because the guy in the commercial is supposed to be a Neanderthal?

Just an idea...
