POSITIVE DRUG TEST AT BRITISH SHOW
« on: August 21, 2006, 10:43:18 AM »
After recent drug testing at the BNBF Central Championships in St Albans,England, former MuscleMania star Michael Hunter was tested positive for a banned substance. Therefore he was stripped of his trophy and placing and is banned for life from any natural bodybuilding show in the UK.

It is sad to see someone resorting to cheating but is great to see them get caught.Well done to the BNBF drug team-I hope this sends out a signal to any other potential cheats. Both British 'natural' organisations the BNBF and NPA  have great drug testing policies and it can only give more confidence to genuine naturals who wish to compete.

Johnno if Olympic champions are being busted a decade after the fact what makes you think a local show will every be able to catch all the users?

It will never catch all the users, although there are very few,but will dissuade potential cheats from competing.Olympic athletes have access to far more drug 'technology' and expert guidance than the average person competing in an amateur natural show so would find it a lot easier to beat a test.In reality there are very few drug cheats in British natural bodybuilding as it is just not worth it.I can understand people in more high profile sports cheating as there is potential large financial gain not just a trophy and a few supplements if you are lucky.

The drug cheat,Michael Hunter,is now claiming to have never taken anything stronger than DHEA ::)(although that is still a banned substance)

When I did the Musclemania Superbody in 2005, the guy who got banned was there. Ripped and hard. Nice guy, from speaking to him.

Good and bad for the sport,

Good: cleaning up shows advertised as natural.

Bad: Some people will feel that natural shows are truly not drug free, here's some proof, and decide to resort to drugs to compete in these shows.

Vicous circle?
