war BJ Penn! i hope he wins... i honestly can't stand any of those people from Idaho or some hick town wherever their from
i just read elswhere that GSP/hughes is still (or back) on.
I hope BJ kept himself in good shape for this fight http://www.ufc.com/index.cfm?fa=news.detail&gid=3125
BJ comes from one of the most down to earth and close knit families I have ever met. His roots are solid as can be. I could only wish to have had that kind of support from my family.
What's everybody's beef with matt hughes, probable pound for pound the best fighter in the UFC, dedicated, not cocky, does his job in the ring beating everybody put in front off him, so what the hell, lay off of him
Matt comes from a very family orientated home.. He was grounded by his parents... he wrestled in high school and worked on a farm... he actually used to buck hay for one of my good friends dad.. her family has nothing but nice things to say about him, from high school still to this day..... hes a very approachable person and very down to earth... i hope he keeps the belt..... as good of a public champ as any...
I like both fighters, but styles makes fights. Matt's game is dominant freestyle wrestling, and ground and pound. Fact: No one has passed BJ's guard in an mma fight. So if Matt takes him down, he will end up in his guard. Two things will happen. 1. Matt creates space to drop elbows, and gets caught in a sub. (not good for Matt) 2. Matt stays in his guard and waits for the ref to stand him up (better). I think Matt can wear BJ down by the fourth and fifth round, and THEN impose his will on BJ. If he comes out extremely aggressive, BJ will catch him in a sub, or KO him on his feet. BJs standup and submission game is much better. Matt is better in the clinch and takedowns. I think Matt will be too excited to control himself, and will want to make an example of BJ. His overaggressiveness will lead to his downfall. GSP was smart enough to know to take BJ down, and lay and pray until the standup and repeat. This is how you eke out a decision against BJ.
Only problem is it won't go 5 rounds. If it does BJ will lose. They will not give BJ a descision. And Matt does not want to go toe to toe with BJ. He'll want to keep it on the ground and hope BJ makes a mistake.
