I'd wait on the Blue Ray....I have a feeling it's gonna go the way of Laser Disc.

I probably will, it sucks that you might have to change all your dvd's if this thing takes off, can you imagine dvd's being like vhs's? talk about a waste of money. I have a decent sized collection and their is no way I am replacing them all.

JUry's stiil out on blu ray. If you have to have insane resolution and don't mind that it will be obsolete in the near future than get it,it looks and sounds incredible. As far as TV's go I prefer an LCD with DLP technology but make sure you get the latest DLP engine they are ALWAYS improving the tecnology. Plasma technology is unforgiving on all but the best signal sources and I really don't like the look of it. Just my personal preference. Truth is these days TV's are like cars, You really can't buy a shitty one anymore.

I agree.....I too prefer the DLP technology over the plasma sets.....that and the plasma sets have a tendency to wear out quickly.

I will look at the LCD's and forget about blu ray for the time being. I disagree about all tv's being good though, a few of my friends have those 3000 dollar projections with the 100 inch screens, and while they are cool for a minute, I don't find the pic quality that good at all, especially if we are playing cards and its bright. Maybe if I was watching a movie in the dark they would look better? Thanks.

I find most High end TV's that look like shit are that way because the owner of the TV has all of the video settings pinned. Coolr setting on VIVID, sharpness CRANKED,Brightness CRANKED, cOlor CRANKED.....looks like ass. Then I whip out a THX calibration DVD and 25 minutes later it looks and sounds like a million bucks. TIP OF THE DAY  The sharpness setting doesn't add any sharpness, it just puts a little black in every pixel. Most A/V afficionados have their sharpness on ZERO.

cool. Do you know those little projectors that I am talking about? they hang from the ceiling and have a pulldown shade for a screen. They are cheap and big, but I don't like the quality. I'd rather have a 60 inch that is crisp.

Yeah those little N.E.C. or  L.G. motherfvckers. Iv'e done some....not bad quality, but very light sensitive, even for a projector.

Yeah, I have a huge wall in my basement and they would be perfect if the quality was a little better, especially when I throw card games during the nfl season or a big fight. Too much light in the room really drowns them out.
