I seriously doubt Arvilla has below 80. That would make him on par with people with Downs Syndrome, they typically range from 20-80.

I like how you're always trying to pass yourself off as an expert on things you know very little about. Adults were traditionally given a chronological age of 16 for IQ testing purposes. Nowadays they have separate IQ tests for adults. Millions of adults have taken IQ tests and received accurate results.

I've never heard of anyone with Down's Syndrome having an IQ of 80. Virtually all of them are mentally retarded.

I don't live in a trailer, but do see some class prejudice in your making such a statement.  Do you believe that you are *better* than anyone who lives in a trailer?  If so, do you believe that people who live in mansions are better than you?

On the general boards, I'm happy to argue politics, and yes, I do feel there are unanswered questions about 911 which should be answered via a new investigation to unite the American people, no matter what the answer may be.  With 36% of the US population believing that the Bush admin has advance warning of 911 attacks, our country is very much divided.  And this is not good for our nation in the long term.  I feel that a second, more complete investigation would unite our country as we either punished those guilty, or learned the details of the day and came together as Americans.

Average IQ is 100 by definition. So average intelligence can be one standard deviation on each side of 100. 85 to 115 can be considered average. Morons are 50 to 75 and idiots between 25 and 50. Most people below 50 would have trouble even doing typical tests. I have taught Downs syndrome kids and they vary heaps regarding intellectual ability. Most would be between 50 and 75 I would guess.

A guy like Melvin is not retarded. You couldn't write like he does and be a dope. Wit is related to IQ but not one to one. In other words some witty guys are not that smart and all smart guys are not always witty. There is no limit to IQ and some kids have been measured at over 200. A PhD named Terman did studies on the super intelligent in California and followed them through life. They were not eggheads as is commonly believed but used their intelligence to cope with life and they succeeded far better than average. They were also better physically than average kids. Terman's books on the superintelligent is a good read. IQ over 150 is what he studied.

In one study he went to a primary school and tested grade 6 kids. They did a sociogram and asked kids to select who they would like to do a project with. Then they tested these kids for IQ. They asked all the kids who they thought was the smartest kid in the class. They even asked the teacher. Well, when the results were in the girl who everyone thought was the brightest had an IQ of about 125. That is high enough to get through medical school. The kid who was most popular in this class was a black girl and her IQ was 210! It was obvious she hid her intelligence and used it to be popular. Even the teacher wasn't aware of this gifted kid. She would have been able to complete a PhD by 16 if she had wanted to.
