its about time the judges opened up their eyes and realised that bodybuilding is and will be the mass freaks sport.i was tired of watching aesthetic assholes place ahead of these giants.this is the first time in 2006 when there was no darrem charles in the top 3 and this decision was by far the best of 2006..damn it was nice to see the mass freaks in the top 5..wow
1)toney freeman(he deserved it than anyone else)
2)quincy taylor(this 6ft.4 inch monster was thick and striated)
3)johnnie jackson(if he had legs he would have won the show)
4)darrem charles(he should have had placed lower)
5)art atwood(my boy art silenced the critics that mass monsters are also aesthetic in every sense)

there are 3 more shows coming up where there are mass monsters like ruhl and dillet competing.if both of them win their respective shows i think it would bring bodybuilding back on track..till 2002 when guys like ruhl were winning smaller shows and dominating bodybuilding as a whole was the best thing that ever happened to bodybuilding..this sport will only progress if there are mass monsters dominating all the shows..before 2002 guys such as nasser,paul dillet,jp fux,kevin levrone,ronnie coleman,jay cutler where winning shows where as  the aesthetic assholes were no where near the top 5..i guess after toney freemans win at the europa would indicate that the mass monsters are now going to win all the shows or atleast be in the top 5 for most of the shows

dude if you are 280lbs with little aesthetics and if you are a guy with only aesthetics and no mass the mass guy with little aesthetics would win very easily..so its all about mass with decent aesthetics..for eg ruhls noc win in 2002 was very much the thing..he was a ripped 287lbs and dry..his shape also looked amazng..big,thick and shredded.ruhl that night was aesthetic at 287lbs..everything big and everything was corresponding to each other size wise.big all over

You see, their muscles (particularly their quads) are so massive that the tendons and ligments cannot support them, in effect they are weak as oppose to the muscles they attached, which renders them
almost usless when it comes to mudane things such as running or jumping.

its better look like a monster rather than looking like a small bitc like dex or darrem.and like i said before mass with even little aesthetic is enough for a mass monster to win a show..even with little aesthetics with mass it gives an illusion of mass having great shape to them.so wat a mass freak needs is a bit of aesthetics and thats it..ruhl,coleman,jay,paul dillet,victor martinez etc are all mass monsters who don't need that much of aesthetics..their mass is just wat results in winning shows in a spectacular manner

Bodybuilding brought in arguebly the most "fans" back when Arnold was winning the O. with his aesthetically pleasing physique, by no means a mass monster. If you expect bodybuilding to take off with this win by Freeman at a tiny show compared to the O., when you have had Coleman (a mass monster) winning the O. 8 years straight, yet arguebly not brought in many new fans/got media attention, then you must be delusional. Freeman is just another mass monster with a smallish waist and good physique. That won't bring new fans.

Anyway, my point is that I think aesthetically pleasing physiques like Charles and Dex are fine to win over the hugely massed and less refined bodies.

Not when Mass monsters are coming in with waist as small and if not smaller than theirs- it will just force 2 divisions of Tall and short olympia. TRUE STORY
 also - the Show was no smaller than the olympia - with out TV coverage - the olympia is being broadcast the same way - internet. so it is just as small to mainstream america.

Ruhl Dillett, yes is a mass monsters. Ronnie in 1997-1998 was the best combo in terms of mass and aesthetics, aside from Kevin Levrone. Then Ronnie started getting a gut.  Victor Martinez looked his best when he was 235-240 when he won th NOC, after that he started getting a gut (take a look at his Muscletime video), he hasn't looked like his NOC shape. Jay looked better at 245-250 pounds, now his waist is wide as hell (he was already blocky), and he looks like a walking refridgerator.

Jay shouldn't have won over Chris Cormier in terms of the Arnold classic, who can come in at over 250, and has a shape in which one can keep adding muslce to. His back was better than Jay's back then, how Jay won is beyond me, because both weighed about the same, and Chris was in better condition during those comps.

Tonie is a huge guy but saying he is a mass freak is selling him short IMO...

He is just a GREAT bodybuilder now. Big, cut, shape, knows how to pose, proportion.

If he can thicken his lats a little more, add depth to his back (lower traps, rhomboids etc) and keep improving his calves WHILST maintaining the waist he showed last weekend he can be one of the best...
