Greg Anderson: American Hero
« on: August 30, 2006, 11:46:08 AM »
Trainer Greg Anderson has been sent back to jail for the third time for contempt of court because he refuses to answer questions about Barry Bonds' anabolic drug use.  This time he could be there until January 2008, which is how long the grand jury is convened to investigate steroids in baseball.  He refused to answer the question of whether he even knew Bonds & Gary Sheffield, in fact.  Anderson was a childhood friend of Bonds, & I must say no one has shown greater loyalty to an old friend than Anderson has.  The judge who sent Anderson back to jail (his first sentence was 3 months last year, & his second was 15 days in July) is U.S. District Judge William Alsup, & he's a smug jerk, saying, "Sometimes sitting in the cooler for a long time may have a therapeutic effect & may change his mind."  I won't print the words that came to mind when I read that statement (reported in USA TODAY).

Cost of a house for Bonds' former mistress, who has now betrayed him by offering testimony to the grand jury: $80,000

Cost of a year of BALCO specialty items: $100,000+ (this is a guess)

Cost of a loyal friend who won't rat you out: PRICELESS

Rest assured taht Bonds and company are paying Anderson huge sums of money to stay quiet.  It has nothing to do with his principles, he would rat out anyone in a heartbeat to avoid the slammer.

Why should Canseco feel compelled to keep it a secret?  He doesn`t owe MLB and the players anything.  They are the ones that shouldn`t be breaking the rules in the first place.  If you don`t break the rules, you have nothing to worry about.

Canseco spilled the beans for his own success dipshit...Remember his tell all book...If this would have never gotten press he would still just be a retired baseball player...

Mr. Greg Anderson has my respect and full support of 'The Council' here on GETBIG.

Conseco is a trick bitch rat-fink fk! Conseco is an ENEMY of GETBIG.com  I'll tell you what if MD Magazine pays him one more dime to interview him or put a picture of that fkn brazer in their magazines with the gel in his hair...his cheesy sunglasses...the motorcycle like he's some rebel badass because he took steroid injections at random...then Steve'Grease Lightnin' Blechman will hear from ME and my fellow 'Council Members'...I will drop my subscription like the way alexxx's mom dropped him when he was a baby...

This is a bodybuilding site and people are defending the guy that restarted all this steroids in sports thing?????  I'm sure Milos, Dennis James and Barry Bonds would back this up.

So what. He told the truth and made a dime.  If you do the crime,be prepared to do the time.  The players should have thought about the consequences before breaking the MLB rules and using steroids.

I don't believe Anderson was a childhood friend of Bonds.  In the book that the two San Francisco sports writers just released, or relatively released, they talk about how and when Barry and Greg met, and it was the year of McGwire and Sosa's home run race, not during childhood, at least this is what I recall from the book, and the Sports Illustrated articles.  Later.

Another attempt from Adam to purge steriod use LoL....Its been around in sports for a long long time...The only time it gets noticed is when the media gets their teeth in it and that is the only reason too....

I've been thiking the same thing.  I'd love to have Greg as friend.  Not too many bros today that will go to prison for friend.  I'm sure he being taken care of.  That's not the point.  Point is, he's not ratting like 99.9 percent of everyone else would.

Adonis I hope you choke on a cock tonight.

I don't think Canseco has any regrets about using and I would not be surprised if he still does (use) today. That being said, I think he is a piece of scum for banking on his breaking of the law.

Okay, let's get this straight.

Greg Anderson is a good guy because it's okay to help guys cheat the system but not okay to help the system catch the cheaters?

Gotcha.

And do you really think Anderson is being loyal? Once Bonds cut$ him off financially, Anderson will sing like a canary and write his own tell-all book faster than you can say "Justin Gatlin".

Dear Deluded, the law that says steroids are the equivalent of crack & heroin is a stupid & unjust law.  Using anabolics in high-level sports is routine & will remain so as long as millions of dollars & worldwide fame are at stake.  Hell, BBs who no one except BB fans have ever heard of, & who make NOTHING from their contest wins, are still willing to do it.  Maybe some politicians actually think that they are going to rid sports of anabolics, but they won't.  Most of them are probably more interested in getting publicity & increasing their chances of re-election, though.

My original post stands.  Anderson is an American hero.
