Andre Agassi appreciation thread
« on: September 03, 2006, 06:00:43 PM »
Since none of you uncivilized heathens has started this thread yet I will make the move.

Andre Aggasi was a long haired beast. He then became a balding beast. Finally ending his career as a bald beast.

LEGEND.

Yeah Agassi was pretty cool, I remember when he first played at wimbledon and the place went crazy with Agassi mania.

There can only be one tennis legend though, John McEnroe, king of kings  8)

Great tennis player.  With all the millions he made, I can't figure out why he couldn't afford a good pair of glasses.  That's the only reason I can think of that explains divorcing Brooke Shields and marrying Steffi Graf.   :-\

did he divorce Shields? i thought she might have initiated

Graf is a premier athlete, albeit one w a big schnozz . . . I'll bet she has nicer legs than Shields.

perhaps andre and steffi have more in common.

Goodbye Agassi, although I know we'll see him lots on tv in the years to come.

we just won't have the privilege of seeing him play.  I watched him all his 21 years.

thanks andre for the sport, the personality and the memories

I thought he asked, but I don't remember.  I do recall he hooked up with Graf right after the divorce.

I think they had a "marriage break-down" (Brooke and Andre)

he wanted kids and she wasn't ready.
She wasn't into having children with him, when he wanted them.
perhaps thought she still had a career.

He still had a career though.

...and he did so much better...

He won all 4 tennis major tournaments. Pete Sampras never even accomplished that feat.
