Is it true that women with breast implants are able to detect any irregularities sooner, because the implants push the tissue up? I've heard this.

I always thought it was the opposite. That the implant hid irregularies. |

it depends. Depending on if the implant was wone above or below the muscle, the size of the implant and also the type of implant being used (i.e silicone or saline). But i'm not supposed to be here.

I guess if they're below the muscle then they would push the tissue up and so you'd be able to detect something easier. If they're on top, I guess it would hide the problem. I'll PM Miggers to find out.

Mammograms may be more complicated. Additional views are necessary when obtaining images of your breasts. The quality of the mammogram will depend on the experience of the tech doing the procedure. They may even employ ultrasound. As for self exams, since it is sa surgical procedure to enhance the breast, scar tissue formation is always present. Depending on the procedure used (nipple insertion, underarm, under breast, or umbilical) the scar tissues may or may no be as noticable. Also some impnats can ripple during certain positions, but relax when arms are at rest.

{LOL} I'm sure it did! Quick question tho. What type of 'school' did you attend that taught about this?
Last I heard, the subject of breast implants were not part of the curriculum at any culinary school or Real Estate certification course I've ever heard of.

I actually first went to school for Sports Medicine and then switched to Nutrition. I did rotations at hospitals working for different de[partments, ranging from nutrition to radiology, therapy and ER. During school we worked with cadavors for gross anatomy. Also, my sister is a rep for a medical supply company and through her i know a lot of doctors and have helped them with certain info packest and as such spent my fair share in plastic surgery offices and clinics. My hands on experience was much more fun though!
