Creatine doesn't work
« on: September 06, 2006, 11:56:13 AM »
I notice nothing from using it.

I have used monohydrate in the past, and I have used "kreakylyn buffered creatine" for 2 weeks and no weight gain, nothing, ever.

I think the results people get from it is just placebo effect, probably because they train more and/or eat more.

There's plenty of glutamine in protein powder by the way.  It's foolish to buy that separately.

Aside from a good multivit/min each day and a decent protein supp, most everything else is garbage and any results are most definitely from a placebo effect.   The only other chemicals that work are illegal bb drugs.

Yes I figured I would try this new creatine, because everyone on forums has been making claims that it works in making gains, and it was just $11.  It must be placebo effect. They are just eating/training more.

Some people are non-responders.

That is ridiculous.  How can that be? are there 2 different species of people?

You drinking more water than usual? That's the idea behind creatine, that it pulls more water into the muscle. If your not drinking more water, or even less water, you won't have any water to bring into the muscles, and that's one reason you won't be gaining any weight.

Some people are non responders.  Creatine has been studied for over 15 years, probably the most studdied supplement out their.   Allot of people make good gains with creatine, some nothing.  It has science to back up the theory behind it, but too many people are expecting steroid like gains when in truth 5-10 lbs. is more like it.  But some do respond well with it.  And you must drink at least a gallon of water a day.

Why do some not respond?  What is the science/logic behind that?

All of it is a bunch of hogwash.

The protein intake they want you to have.
The post workout shake they want you to take.
The Glutamine you are supposed to choke down.
The extra BCAA`s you have to get.

Throw it all away and do not buy it ever again.  Throw the muscle magazines away. Forget about what the drug users do.  Don`t support anything related to the industry.  Its all bullshit.

Exactly Mars, every person on the planet will respond to bb drugs, but supplements don't have the same effect?   Some respond and some don't......nope, bullshit......supplement s are crap.   They should take M&M, Skittles and Reese's Pieces and paint em white, bottle em and print Muscle Placebo on the side.......some folks will add quality mass and some won't.....just depends how hard you're training, how hard you're dieting and what other illegal bb chemicals you're taking.   If you're takin no bb drugs then you're at the mercy of your genes which for the vast majority of us are average at best.

I've never had a problem with creatine.  I took some that I had left over after my daughter was born, I wasn't even working out and I gained 7lbs, I just took it to see what would happen, didn't eat anymore food or drink anymore.  It was the mega creatine fuel stack by twinlab with glutamine, creatine and taurine.........haven't taken it since....

Yep, most folks should abandon all their great supplements and just train naturally....if they add a lot of quality weight in a short period of time and wanna bb then get some drugs and see how far your genes will take you.

You might want to factor in the reputation of the manufacturer whose creatine you are using.

I remember reading something where they took several different brands of creatine and tested them for quality/content.

Some were much lower than others.
The answer is "yes".

Reeses and M and M`s are more effective supplements as they can be used for a meal.
