Time is one thing Chris doesn't have.  He's a busy man, what with working 1,042 hours a week and all!

i guess you'll just have to settle for the 80lbs. for 10 reps that you do currently but don't worry you might get there in about 35 years.

I may aswell use this thread to discuss something worthy of discussion, Chris.. lately when I've been doing my deadlifts I've been getting huge throat pressure (rarely something comes back up) but I think I'm seriously stuffing up on breathing technique and it doesn't feel healthy.  Any tips on breathing properly or something like that to avoid stressing ze head?

You my boy need to learn the bodybuilding fundamentals. Breath in when on a negative, breath out on the positive.

Oh I know the fundamentals alexxx, I just find it incredibly difficult to apply them to a heavy deadlift.

Then you weren't made to go heavy. Try increasing cardio and take deep breaths during streneous exercise. In your case that would mean with your night time training buddy the musclebear.

I don't think the deadlift is an exercise that lends itself to higher reps unless you are performing the stiff-legged variety (SLDL).  If you are performing standard deads I think it best to stick with 1-3 reps.  When performing a maximum or near-maximum lift I will hold my breath during the concentric or eccentric portion of the movement.  I firmly believe in letting the body's own natural breathing mechanism do its thing when training with weights.
