The atomic bomb killed 100,000, mostly innocent people...that was ok though cause we pulled the trigger.
This is the part that I find so incredibly offensive. Yes, 3,000 people died, ...and that was a horrible tragedy, ...but when I hear Americans albeit shellshocked saying things like 'This is the worst tragedy in the history of mankind', or 'This was the biggest mass murder in the history of mankind' etc., etc., ...you just want to smack them and say wake the f**k up and get over yourselves already!
I personally thought it was about time for the American public to wake up to the reality of day-to-day existance and for once to truly understand the pain of many people around the world from Britain to Palestine, South America, Israel etc. What a tragic, and unfortunate way to learn it. Although with statements purporting to make this the worst tragedy and crime against humanity etc., it appears many don't have a clue or any perspective on the situation.
No jackass, it was fine because it saved at least that amount of our soldiers and many more Japanese...
That's simply the BS propaganda your nation fed you to justify such unecessary cruelty. Truth is, after spending so much money on it, they wanted to test it out, but more importantly wanted to announce to the Soviet Union and the rest of the world they had the bomb. It was the Soviets the Japanese would have been engaging in a land war. Nuking Japanese cities also served to satisfy the bloodlust & thirst for vengeance that they so carefully cultivated within the populace.
since they were literally willing to fight down to the last man and were willing to sacrifice everyone in a land war
Furthermore, if that was the case, why did they not fight to the last man regardless, ...'cause it was only BS fed to you by your own government.
If the US government was really concerned about their military personnel, ...they would not have so easily sacrificed them at Pearl Harbor.
If its a matter of them or us dying, I pick them every single time.
That attitude is understandable, ...however it was
NOT and still is
NOT the case.
