Where does the soul go after the body ceases to exist?

I was in NJ yesterday afternoon and a horriffic car crash claiming 2 lives happened right before me. I was the first person there and wanted to part of it but some lady was banging on my hood asking me to help out.

I pulled over to help assist this woman trapped in her Wrangler by pulling off the top of the roof with was leather. What I saw was not for the faint of heart.

Just thought I share that, be careful one day it could all end .

this really happened to you? that would be pretty rough to see...i wondered the same thing a while back when a car right in front of me nailed a deer literally feet from my car. i saw the poor damn thing get tossed like a stuffed animal onto the side of the road right next to me, it died on impact. it is rather disturbing to see somethings life snuffed out right before your eyes.

I don't believe there is such a place as purgatory. G.R.H. are you Catholic by chance and if so, would you consider being an "educator" on a "Learning Thread" on the religion board for us to learn about Catholicism?

Without getting too detailed (which would require this to be moved to the Relig. Board, which may happen eventually), I believe when you die your spirit/soul goes to either heaven or hell and later (depending on when you die) your body will be ressurrected in a glorified state and join your soul/spirit....

You just turn the page and its on to the next chapter...What the next chapter will be is soley based on the person you were...For some people its a very small read with only a few pages till they get to the end...But for most of us, the book makes the length of gone with the wind look like a childrens book...

That's quite an experience. Let's not think about death, for it will come soon enough. And at that point the question you ask will be finally answered. Let us think about life instead. Think about today and making the most of it. Think about tomorrow and hope we're here to savor it. Let's keep on doing what we love to do and never let anything get in our way.

Don't let your close encounter with death take your mind away from life.
