Goat, these IFBB 'rules' are all 'eton' school laws -ie. meant to be observed by the spirit of the law, not the rule of law. The RULES clearly state that you cannot compete for a rival federation, or you WILL be suspended. This particular rule has been enforced 100% of the time, without exception.

The code of Conduct SUGGESTS that you refrain from certain activity, porno, talking trash about the judging, other athletes, etc....and has been enforced by way of warnings, letters of apology, etc...a HANDFUL of times...

How 'bout the RULES against drug use?

Or are those "suggestions" too?  ::)

You cannot possibly lump in baseball, football, etc with bodybuilding, thats obsured, thats like saying bodybuilding is a mainstream sport. One of the things that makes the other sports legit is the enforcement of the rules that were written, if the rules in the mainstream sports were not enforced it would ruin the integrity of that particular sport and it's industry.....bodybuildin g shouldn't even be mentioned in the same breath as baseball, football or anyother legit sport!

If Lee wanted to challenge thee "no compete" rule in the court of law..thats his prerogative (like Bobby Brown)....

Nothing other than that would/ could be used as it would be ruled irrelevant to HIS case...whether or not the IFBB chooses to drug test, etc...would have no bearing on his case.

What would be relevant to his case, would be a precedent in cases similar to his...other athletes that were NOT suspended while breaking the same rules...on that note, he doesn't have a strong case...when as recent as 1992, ALL IFBB athletes that went and competed in the WBF were suspended immediately.

That's the whole point... if Lee is kicked out of the IFBB, he has nothing to lose, and he's just crazy enough to do it. Weider & Manion know this.  Despite the bluster of their message-board mouthpiece, if Lee decides to push it, the IFBB will back down in the end.

Bottom line is...why would Lee WANT to come back to the IFBB?? He clearly hates it...he has an opportunity to go and compete wherever he wants...no one is holding a gun to his head to stay.

Now this is where a real smart lawyer could do some damage, by smartly allowing to be introduced some evidence, not unlike the 'rape' defence (now under fire) to look at backround incidences. I would also guess, unless he/she wanted to make a name for him/herself that a good lawyer would not be interested in taking up such a noisome case.  :-[

Are they deeper than the Justice Department's?  Assistant US Attorneys just love getting their names in the papers with steroid cases right now, and Lee could go tell one of them everything he knows about the bodybuilding industry.  It wouldn't cost him a cent to do that. Then, if an investigation is opened, he can use that to get a mainstream reporter interested and spill his guts about everything from porn and gay-for-pay to drug dealing and bogus supplements.
