But...

He's posing alone in the gym.  How mnay off season pics do we see of any guy, where he looks "ready to take it all come gameday".  Onstage, the story is always the same, Ronnie shows up and does his job.  And since this is probably the last show and Ronnie is the hardest working man alive, he's probably going to bring a level of conditioning which will seriously destroy everyone not names Munzer or Branch.

Ronnie gets #9, collapses onstage, and retires.  jay comes back again to win one, so long as the Phil Heath express hasn't arrived yet.

I don't agree on that breakdown. Cutler looks better standing and better in most of the compulsories if shape, size, definition and symmetry plus overall appearance is considered. Coleman has unusual shape to say the least.

Can someone help Jay do those poses better? There is still time. It amazes me how top guys still don't present at their best. Jay should not put his arms out wide in the front standing 'relaxed' because it makes him look funny. Instead of looking bigger he makes his arms look smaller which is a fatal mistake. He should look at how Sergio used to stand on stage. He should learn to twist a bit on the double biceps to give his body better lines. I imagine others might be helping him but he makes the same mistakes year after year. He has to stand like a champion. If he looks more impressive with his arms closer to his sides then that is what he should do. Ronnie will then look ridiculous. Same goes for the back poses. Jay should really highlight his calves when next to Ronnie. He has to learn not to make faces when posing.

Ah yes the hype machine goes into overload.  240 is right.  He's smart enough to know that this shit always happens here.  Some of you guys have no objectivity - you just launch into thinking the guy is going to win as soon as you see the pics.  Personally I can't remember when I've ever not been blown away by pre olympia pics of Ronnie and I can't say these pics really blow me away.  He looks better but he's still not the most detailed of pro's (in certain places on his body, others are ok).

In the old days if a guy had a weak bodypart we said he had no arms, or calves. Seems to me Ron has suspect calves and from the back there is harldy any separation or striations in the calves. Jay has huge calves and they look like they are supposed to look like. Why on earth would judges give a title to a guy with a weak bodypart when another competitor has no weaknesses and is almost the same size? Sure Ron looks unreal. He amazes everyone. However, his calves are weak and his overall shape is not what I call a beautiful shape. Jay wins again because his shape is more pleasant. If you look at those photos of Jay then it is clear that every muscle seems large and full. Quite an achievement. The Olympia seems to go to the guy with the best back since about 1983. I don't think that is right but that is what has happened. Jay looks a clear winner there and let us hope the judges don't deny him this year. I have had enough of the bizarre physiques winning the Olympia.
