« on: September 20, 2006, 12:46:00 PM »
I always seem to get a headache after conmuming a protein shake. Does anybody else have this problem?

When it says shake well, it doesn't mean scoop powder into mouth add liquid and slosh.  Ok seriously, is this with all protein shakes?  What are you taking?  Is the liquid very cold and are you slamming it down?

No, I use Champion Nutrition Pure Whey Chocolate Protein and I'm not slamming it down.
It's not a brain freeze. I use mile and ice with it but I take my time drinking it. I
just seem to get headaches from drinking it. Not all the time but a good amount.
Anybody ever have this problem??

The only time that has happened to me is when I've used the "designer" flavors of NITRO-TECH, namely Orange Creme and Chocolate Cinnamon Swirl.

Usually, when I stick to the basic flavors (Chocolate, Vanilla, and Strawberry), I don't have that problem.

It could be the sweet taste.

You should also consider trying one without the ice, and just cold milk. Also check out the label whether the protein contains some salt (natrium....). Also check out the label of milk.

The key-ingredient to get ice-cold shakes is salt. The temperature will drop well below zero (celcius).
