Olympia Press Conference Questions
« on: September 25, 2006, 05:19:48 PM »

Well, this year, the members of the press, that is people who have press passes, can and will ask questions to the Olympia competitiors. The question I have is there any questions, and they need to be serious, not bashing, and somewhat more exciting, questions that you seriously (did I mention seriously) would like to know regarding some of the competiors.

So here you go, a chance to hear some questions you want to hear instead of the usual praise, love, and declaration of fanhood.

Now - non serious questions will be deleted. And start with whom you want to question to be for...

There's nothing exciting about guys posing in thongs.
Here's a question:
Do you think the IFBB should actually enforce testing procedures, so athletes don't have to risk their lives just to compete in something they love?
You won't ask it, but it's a good question.

I would like for you to ask.....

"do you feel points should be deducted for a distended stomach....so much to the point where it would affect a top 5 placing"

& make sure Big Ron is asked that question.

Q for Jim Manion:   "Mr. Manion, why do you feel Lee Priest needed to be suspended for competing in the NOC, when every IFBB representative has said  publicly that the PDI is 'inconsequential' and 'no threat' to the IFBB?  Why does rule 1.7 even exist, and how can you justify it when the IFBB does not pay these guys as employees?"

Ask all of them if they're willing to compete as 100% natural..

I bet Gustavo will stand on the table, rip off his jacket, flex and shouted "100% natural - Hard work"

For Betty Pariso:

"How excited were you to see the athlete turnout (27 competitors) in women's bodybuilding for the recent Atlantic City Pro, and if I may follow up, were you at all disappointed with the lackluster promotion of an event which featured so many great athletes?  And lastly, do you agree that sanctioning fees be lowered significantly in order to allow pro events to be adequately promoted?  Thanks in advance for your responses."

Ask them which ones are coming to the PDI when they realize the IFBB is going down.

Any news on when the PDI will pay the athletes?

Athletes?  What are we talking about here?  Oh the bodybuilders.  ;D

Wayne didn't pay them yet?

 ;D

No news on payments.
They were held back till the results of the drug test.

ask Ronnie to explain the bohr-rutherford model of the atom, and to derive the equation for its radius...

after all, I think he wrote about that one in his Flex column :)

I had the chance to discuss this with him recently. Very interesting although most of it was too technical for me. I'd say that Stephen Hawkin has a broader understanding of the subject but Ronnie has the better physique.

LOL!!!  Talk about a catch-22.

I'm wating for Keith (Onlyme) to start demanding that interest be added to the checks when the athletes are eventually paid. Another day or two and he'll no doubt be rasing hell over the fact that it's taking so long for the results of a simple test to come back.

Once again, it seems we have a failure to communicate...

It says, the IFBB CAN implement drug testing at it's discretion, it doesn't say they WILL test...

I'm done trying to educate you and Lee on the subject.

Here we go again.

hvae you emailed Wayne and asked him?  Have you emailed any athletes and asked them?

Or is the spectacle of asking uninvolved people on message boards, just a tad more informative?

Yep, they CAN, unless it's Jay Cutler they're testing.  ::)

Lee will file suit, IFBB will quietly back down and work out a deal with Lee.

Obviously you are not as you wouldn't have posted this !!

Any how what happened to the testing for Diuretics and such like that was made mandatory at Pro level??

And didn't BEN WEIDER make a international press statement that emphasised his commitment to Drug Testing to that of the same commitment that is required by the IOC ??

And why is it so that at Armature Level in the IFBB , Drug testing IS meant to implemented by its national affiliations , but not at pro level ??

Not that I am for testing , I'm just curious about all these double standards ??
