Police: Allegedly Combative Man Shot With Taser Escapes
Nearby High School Locked Down During Incident

SAN DIEGO -- A dispute in a Talmadge area neighborhood involveded police using a taser gun on a man who then escaped and a police shooting that seriously injured a dog that charged a patrol officer, authorities said.

The disturbance near Hoover High School began around 11 a.m., when an apartment resident saw a large opossum running through the area and tried to get a maintenance worker to corral it, San Diego Police Department reported.

Several men then began fighting over what to do with the feral animal, prompting someone to call the police, according to broadcast news accounts.
 

A short time later, an officer trying to sort out the situation shot one of the combatants with an electric stun gun when the man allegedly grew combative, local media reported.

Though he was momentarily subdued, the man was able to break free from police and ran off moments later, police said.

At some point during the altercation, a Rottweiler came at an officer, who fired several shots in self-defense, police said. The wounded dog was taken to a veterinary clinic. Its condition was not immediately available.

Administrators at the nearby high school directed all students and staffers to remain inside classrooms and offices while police searched the area for the escaped suspect

So this is fucked up....a man escapes the police....run through someone's yard.....A Rottweiler attacks the cops coming into his property (which is not clear but is looking this way).....dog is shot.

(AP) - A dispute that began over the capture of an opossum in a residential neighborhood ended with police shooting a Rottweiler and arresting a man after stunning him with a Taser gun.

A fight broke out in the Talmadge area of San Diego after a resident saw a large opossum running in the area Tuesday and asked a maintenance worker to corral the feral animal, prompting a call to police.

An officer at the scene shot a Taser gun at one man who became combative, according to police reports.

The man removed the barbs and fled through a neighboring yard, where a Rottweiler allegedly came at the officer. The officer fired several shots in self-defense, police said.

The man was found and arrested a short time later. Police said they were evaluating him for being under the influence.

The dog was taken to an animal hospital. Its condition was not immediately available.

There was an issue like this on one of the bulldog boards I belong to. This woman was minding her own business when a fugitive of some sort ran into her yard. The police follwed the criminal in and where met by the woman's pitbull. They shot and killed the dog. I believe they where chasing the perp over some drugs he was selling...


I could see how this situation could just be a tragic stroke of bad luck.If this guy was a murder or just committed an awful crime. BUT this guy was being persued for being seen selling drugs. They had no right to cap this woman's dog on her own property.... She sued the city for negligence and won!


Before all you fags start talking nonsense think about if it was your dog and it was a frekin poodle. You think they would have shot it? fact is they where persuing a nonviolent criminal and got trigger happy.


Nice fat multi million dollar lawsuit will teach em how to conduct themselves correctly!
