ronnie's own fault

as soon as we all read that coleman was going to compete at 300 lbs. i knew that he would loose.

in 04 he was 296 and looked very off. 

why, 2 years later at the age of 42, with injuries and more time off than usual, would he decide to compete again at that weight.

  Agreed. Like I've said on the truce thread, Ronnie is at his best around 250 lbs. The weight he was when he won his first Sandow.

No way. He couldn't get back to 250 if he tried, and even if he did he'd get blown off the stage by Jay. Ronnie was at his most dominate in '03, and he attempted to duplicate that form.

Sucky, I don't believe that Coleman GH gut would allow him to hit 250 again.  However, if he would not have the lat and tricep injury (which is obvious) and did not play the size game (shame on Chad), he could have come in at a ripped 275 to 280 and won quite easily.  Hell, he could have come in almost exactly like last year and won.  Although we may differ on Dorian and his standing from time to time, I don't think Jay could hold his jock strap.  Even in 1997, Dorian had a real back that would have blown Jay's out of the water.  Now Ronnie in 1998/1999 would have decimated them all.  ;)  Man, I am just messin with you bro..Dorian and him would have had some wars if they would have met at their all-time best.  However, I tend to side with you now as Dorian never lost his crown, so I consider him the greater champion.  Wonder if Haney had a drink tonight with Jay after the upset.

I agree it was his own fault, but for not knowing when to retire, the judges had to take it away from him or he would have carried on for years delusionally thinking hes untouchable because thats what glennnnnnrrrrrrrrr222222 22 tells him while hes rimming him.

Its a shame that a once great bodybuilder had to go out like this but i suppose he either got greedy and tried to milk it or he actually thought he could win with half a back and no triceps.

You never can see the writing on the wall until it is too late.  Think Willie Mays.  Think Michael Jordan (with the Wizards  ???).  Great athletes rarely go out on top.  I can think of only a few.  Lance
Armstrong and Pete Sampras.  Jordan tried, but the pull of the crowd is too much.  I will bet you 10 pennies  ;D that Ronnie's team is pumping him full of BS right now.  The man deserved to lose tonight, although I do not feel Cutler should have been the one taking his crown.  Vic is next if he doesn't go back to jail.

bullshit - we all know what happened in 1994.

Just because Jay was allowed to win in an era where ticket sales are dropping due to stale lineups and placings does not mean that dorian should not have lost too.

Ronnie has more wins than anyone in history, as well as 8 Mr. O's. And he looked way better at his peak (lines, small waist, detail) than Dorian ever did.

He is by far the greater champion.

Hulkster, I understand your pain, but consider this.  Although Dorian had a little Palumbolism and a torn bicep in 1994, his back was still fairly dominant and his conditioning was better than what Ronnie put up on stage yesterday.  I did not perceive a cut in Ronnie's back double bicep at all.  His shoulders were smooth, his left lat was missing.  His legs and glutes were not even shredded.  When the man comes in at his best, I concur he is the greatest.  However, Ronnie's lows are far worse than Dorian's lows.  Dorian in 1994/1997 would have easily beaten this version of Ronnie.  Sorry man, but that is the truth.  Maybe the greatest compliment I can say about Yates is he knew when his time had come.  He saw the writing on the wall and retired before undergoing a similar faith to what Ronnie is experiencing right now.  Ronnie should have called it quits last year after the decisive victory.

get over it for fuck sake, Jay is the champion so look forward to a new era of BBing. The next 3 Olympias should be great cos Jay could win 1 then retire, leaving the door open for a new champion again. He could retire this year and that would mean 2 winners in 2 years cos IMO ronnies finished. Not because of 1 result but because he is pushing his body harder than its willing to let him and hes falling off the chart.

Anyway, after either of those scenarios you have the prospect of someone like Phil Heath, Melvin, Dex or Vic trading wins between them as not one of them is more dominant than the rest. This could be the end of long term champions............... .....
