There are many reasons why racism and hatred still exists. The truth is when you believe that race based hate is so wrong, you end up second guessing yourself because there are people in society who expose themselves with their excessive ethnic behavior

I hate rappers because they act so ghetto, too urban, and very gang affiliated. Most of these guys look like creatures who stepped out of a horror movie. They talk like they've been given the human right to say whatever they want to because of free speech. Their attitude just reinforces why I have pre-conceived notions that are honestly very prejudiced about people in the inner city. Being genetically pre-disposed is not excusable at all for the ugly street syndrome that is shown by former prison people who use poverty as a excuse to do anything so they can make themselves look like they deserve to make money by hustling.

i agree with some of what you said, but i'd like to add: rappers don't "act" ghetto. they "are" ghetto. at least the ones from the ghetto. and even the ones from the 'burbs(ice cube/encino), appropriate all of the ghetto trappings. i.e.- speech-(non-standard black english, the saggy dress, etc...
many of these guys won't admit it, but inside they are scared as shit. just little boys. somehow, there's an unwritten"urban law," that says if you're "black," you 've got to "sound" and "act" black, in order to be "legit." to "keep it real!" since when did the "i'm proud to be ignorant banner get so popular? not only that, but many people(of all races), will erroneously measure the degree of your "blackness," by how "street" or "ghetto
 you sound. keepin' it real, right?  f*ckin' pathetic, is what it is. ...and most peole buy into this bullshit. i keep asking myself- since when did it become so "cool" as to sound like you've got litle more than a 3rd grade education? then if you speak properly, "other" blacks use the cop out,"oh, he think he white!" yeah, right. there is proper grammer, language, etc.. since when is speaking properly, "white." it's just proper grammer, ffs!
but what are you gonna' do? our society buys into all the fantasy gangsta'/roleplaying and encourages this type of stuff, to a degree.
too bad people are so afraid to just "be," and don't have to manufacture and present a totally delusional "image.: (in their mind) oops! my bad! that  is a huge part of the inherrent "problem." these days, many peole don't even "know" who the f*ck they are.
maybe they've never experienced those "defining moments" that let you know who and what you are really made of.
oh well. i guess, if in doubt, act"hard"  (haha!)
p.s.- as long as the prime motivators  (fear self hate, and insecurity) for most larval stage humans continue to exist and be perpetuated, there will be self hate, self loathing, etc... and all these things help racism and intolerance survive.

Exactly, and im freakin sick of it. Im a blacktino (lol) and this ignorance is prevailant in both races. When did in good in school i was called "school boy" and other dumb names. and im like "id rather be school boy than drop out boy" The worst part is this. When i was in undergrad i used to go home during the holidays or the summer ....when i got back to the neighborhood the guy who just got out of jail would get all the respect "what up man u just got out glad to see you blah blah lets go party" when i got back its "so you learnin how to work for the man huh" like its cool to go to jail and live with your mother until you are 40. we have a long way to go

It's a problem when public people like Jesse Jackson try to erradicate racism and hatred while not truly attempting to address the problems in all the urban areas of very black america. Look at the non-fiction tales in a TV show such as "The Corner". Is paying your dues in the hood so gangsta or gangster that when you get your degree in street credibility, then they can prove how real ghetto they are by acting like a popular rapper who gained authentic street credentials because of having a scary reputation.

The state prison system just proves the point about why many believe in locking up all villains from the streets and throw away the key. So many prisoners are wannabe rappers and so many rappers are wannabe gangsters. Do these rap stars know anything authentic about the mobsters that truly exist in our society? I'm wondering because they consistently pretend that they do. Besides hearing Imus talk about someone infamous like Suge Knight and his odd connections to the underworld, how many of these "brand named" hip-hop celebrities can back up their supposed gangsta claims with any truthful examples of knowing any elements of the mob.

My point about real hateful racism is that you should try to understand why it still makes so much sense to some people who are super stubborn. Going around in circles and pretending to be so politically correct is very misguided. I don't hate any type of person based solely on their race, color, or nationality. I don't follow those reactionary racist beliefs like the controversial stuff that senator named Trent Lott said in the 02 year when he was signaling to the total rebirth of hate mongers. I do believe it is OK to have prejudiced views against all types of people and I base that on the ugly reality that is very excessive in this country. I believe in stereotyping people because that is why police officers have used racial profiling(sometimes too often) to try to really contain the crime rate that makes some decent people who are from the suburbs feel afraid and also feel frustrated at people who act like they are only from the streets.

I know what you mean about other black people ragging on other black people if they start doing well, i had a good friend of mine (black) who started to make quite a bit of money working a normal job, and his old black friends started saying he wasnt "keeping it real anymore" and that he was a "sellout" wtf? and "acting like a white man". Im not racist at all but it seems that they were the ones being racist and try and hold other people back from doing well by trying to ridicule them back into hanging out with them and getting involved with crime like they were doing.
