Recession for 2020?
« on: December 01, 2019, 07:14:11 AM »
Have any of our resident economists heard of a possible recession come 2020?

Some have been speculating on Wall Street, makes me wonder what kind of market might be around the corner.

After the "boom-boom", some adapted to the new truth, and some chose to huddle near the boomy holes, clinging to the lie of the beforefore times.

At this point, I might as well stream it. Once I do, I'll report back. It better be worth it man, you're campaigning hard for it!

Paul Krugman predicts total global economic meltdown due to Trump.

Per Krugman recovery is only possible by a full embrace of socialism or communism.

Won’t affect me. I’ll shift my company to working bigger government and sports/entertainment projects. Two industries where budgets are always big.

from my view: (career mortgage broker) housing in my area

-mortgage rates will remain low which is great for refinance biz
-the housing market will see a little appreciation (in my market, AZ) 1-3% due to supply vs demand
-Young buyers will be the bulk of the home buyers
-baby boomers are not prepped for retirement (reverse mortgages will soon become the new normal)
-upper middle/upper class buyers are not moving as often -
-luxury condo market has changed in AZ (condotels and high end rentals are the new norm)
-consumer confidence remains high
-access to credit is a good balance

Quite possible, always highs and lows, ups and downs. Dem's are praying for it so they can attack the US Prez a bit more.

The rumors of a pending economic recession will continue as long as the Democrats have no answers for the historic economic success of the Trump Administration

The libs are hoping they can cause one but while I readily admit to not being the seer of seers or the prognosticator of prognosticators, I don't see one with our President in charge of our Nation.

There are ups and downs to all things financial, but only when vile beings like these DemocRats are in charge or on an uncontrolled Whinepath can the End Times be set on "REPEAT".  These assclowns want us, as in the U.S., to fail.  FTN.

I feel like they've been predicting a large recession, comparable to or worse than the one in 2008, since 2012.  "Mr Anabolic", in particular, would swear up and down that it was coming.

The market works in boom and bust cycles so a recession coming is inevitable but it seems like all the "experts" are guessing, just like the rest of us.

Obama averaged 1.9%  GDP for eight years.  Unemployment was high. Jobs were low. Wages were low. Now we have Trump. Lowest unemployment in 51 years. Lowest Black and Hispanic unemployment in 50 years. GDP is up. Wages are up. Highest oil production in history. Highest stock market in history. He bought China to their knees with tariffs. China is now buying billions in agriculture. Democrats would let China rape this country as long as they got their own billion dollar deal for their pockets. I could go on.

Democrats want the economy to go south so bad so they can blame him to regain power.  They don't care about the economy or this country as long as they have power making money for their own wallets like the Biden's and Clinton's.

Yes, a massive one is due to hit and it’ll be far worse than the Great Depression.  The mold has already been put in place by the fed manipulating the dollar up and down to fool people into parting way with any precious metals they have.  Supposedly, the BRIC nation’s are attempting to create a currency backed completely by gold, once that happens we are FUCKED.  The only reason our currency is still number one to this day is because the Saudi’s only trade their oil in dollars but if a better currency arises it’s all over.

Housing prices has been climbing, and not at rate of wages, or GDP. Not only in the US but all over the world. So alot of people are in too much debt.

But I think one of the biggest reasons for US resession and will be for Europe, Australia, Canada etc. It is the rise of China and India. Globally they are taking a bigger piece of the pie.

See here, China and Indias climb from early 00's

Why do you think Trumps focus is trade wars with China  ;) ...but he should start taking a look at India aswell

btw. take a look of how strong Germany was under the lead of AH. Quite amazing when compared to popluation numbers.

Business loans are shrinking. Flat YoY has always been associated with a recession. But I think it will be a mild one and rebound next year. Thats not to say the profit out look is good though.

And there is a sig. risk of the trade war driving everthing lower first.
