how can a calf be smaller then that pic? the muscle is about a half inch off the bone and the lower calf is actually non existent! scroll the pic to the knee cap and cut the rest of the body off, would you think that guy enven lifts or would you have guessed the guy weighed abot 140 lbs?

Yep - they have always sucked. And they never seem cut (like Cutlers) either.

LOL... yeah right! Ronnie's FAR from the worst and if you get a measuring tape you'll find his calves are at least 20", which I think you really know. They don't have a very good genetic shape but they're big.
My vote for worst calves on a pro goes to Bill Grant.

Yeah...slayer is honestly making himself look like an idiot. Ronnie's calves are probably top 10 if not top five for sheer size of any Mr. Olympia competitor over the past 15 years.
If slayer wants to lose all credibility, denying objective fact is a surefire way to do it!

Well, if you check Ronnie out from a BDBi or Lspread, his size/shape for quad/calve ratio looks fine. Its just front on they look awol.

I know I have been out of the loop and tree for 3 decades but how the heck do these calfless wonders ever get a pro card? In the old days if you lacked a bodypart you weren't complete and never won a major show. Ronnie's calves might measure something respectable but the gals have more cuts than he ever shows. Dexter is great from the knees up just like our own Bast. My calves are still over 17 inches and I usually compete with arms, calves and neck the same measurement. Steve Reeves was the same. Ronnie and his peers often have calves way smaller than their huge arms. Out of proportion and good riddance from Olympia title. Jay and Dorian had great calves as did Dickerson and Arnold.

worst set of calves ever was Tony Pearson, great back and good upper body but those calves blew big time. He was one of the first guys to actually show up on a pro stage with implants, the old f'd up implants at that.

since ive started working out ive always believed arms and calves should be exactly the same size, that called symetry! ;) thats been my argument for yrs with coleman, no way he should ever been mr"o" with those calves and why jay should have always beat him!

all calves aside, ronnie kills jay in that shot. sorry, i know this has been done to death, but just compare traps, hams, glutes, rhomboids, teres, lats maybe not as wide, but condition forget it, jay looks like a refridgerator with legs. damn i wish synthol was never invented, bodybuilders are looking like shit! entire muscle groups are looking like poly filler.

Not a genetic defect, bad for bodybuilding, whereas the goal is to have bigger muscles, yes. I read in Runner's magazine that having having calves is better for torque distribution while running. If you notice those in the animal kingdom that are good runners, the bones that corespond with our lower legs lack muscle density (ex. ostrich, cheetah, impala..) those that are short distance runners ( bears, lions) have thicker or more muscle density

Best- Chris Dickerson, Shawn Ray, Lee Priest, Jay, Mike Matarazzo, Dorian, Art Atwood, Ruhl, Mike Francois.

I think Ronnie has stuck a lot of different compounds in his calves to try to make them grow. They are a bit lumpy and one calf is almost straight when viewed from the front - no belly to the muscle.
If you ever seen the way he trains calves in his "Unbelievable" video, he does a lot of bouncing, half reps
The biggest cales that i seen on a black dude, compared to bodywight was this guy at Camden Yards, he was the guy sold peanuts, and all he did was run up and down all day long, his calves were huge. Which makes me think that which black bodybuilder's calves as with forearms one should train with high reps, and less weight.

JOJ's calves have a good shape to them, but they're just small as all hell. in his new video they don't so terrible when he's a couple weeks out, but on stage its a totally different story.
