1. PDI rules say their guys can compete anywhere.

2.  Seriously, even though last year I was the biggest drama queen about this story, does anyone really care anymore?  Are we going to have huge online battles this year about so-and-so said this or that?  Are we going to have grown men from each org pretending not to care, then spending dozens of hours bashing the other?

honestly, i have no interest in the story this year.  IFBB is the giant and does their thing.  PDI is the new industry offering and provides a good solution for some athletes and fans.  For us to spend time owning each other and bashing the other is so... last year  :D

Are you suggesting that a requirement for working for FLEX is to be an IFBB stooge?

Besides Lee, there is no other superstar in the PDI.

P.D.I. = "PRIEST" "DIRECT-DEPOSIT" "INSTITUTION"

Sami and Frey aren't exactly chopped liver.  Besides, who cares.  It's an alternative.  I don't catch Arena football very often, but when it's on, it's interesting to watch cause it's different.  They don't have Peyton manning.  But they have a lot of interesting moments in a new environment.

One of thos guys you named will easily make top 5 at the olympia.

Sami or Frey?  Wow.   Sami is a very good bodybuilder, but top 5 at the Olympia?  Wow.  He was beaten by priest at the PDI events, which means Priest would be top 4 at the Olympia.

That means, by your own admission, that the PDI would own 40% of the top 5 at the Olympia.  Sounds like a pretty promising group.  Thanks for telling us about them!

They were told "come over to the IFBB, and we'll gift you top 5 in next year's O".  ::)

5 guys are granted top 5 at the Mr. Olympia and that's: Victor Martinez, Ronnie Coleman, Jay Cutler, Dexter and a toss up between Gustavo and Melvin (most likely gustavo)

Dexter now has a gut and probably wont compete in the O anymore. Melvin has a hard to getting into contest shape. His weight gain went straight to his stomach. Gustavo is too soft. Victor, Ronnie, and Jay should be at the top 3.

bullshit.  Lee is the PDI's top guy, and he's barely top 10 in the current O lineup.

You're saying there's a guy in the PDI - not named Lee priest - who could take top 5 in the O.

you're saying we're going to see a once-per-decade phenom appear and knock off Gustavo, Dex, and melvin in his first Olympia appearance.

I call bullshit on ya.  Sami is great.  Frey is very good.  But top 5 at the O?  Sounds like you're working for the PDI, man!

Yes top 5 at the O. Its not Frey and no I dont work for the pdi :)

Do you believe Sami is better than melvin, dexter, and gustavo?

I like sami, but he couldn't beat priest in the NOC shows.  He has great potential, but he's over 35 (i believe) and while he could take top 5 in a smaller show.... top 5 at the O?

Sami wouldn't Top Ten in the O.  His placing at the O would be similar to Ronnie Rockel.

Priest showed up out of shape in that contest. He shouldnt have won. Yes I do believe he is better than melvin and gustavo. Dex has been on a decline these past years. His gut is getting really bad.

Title: Re: PDI PRO LEAVING PDI FOR IFBB

why is everything about the pdi a secret?

Because the IFBB immediately goes out of its way to ruin whatever they are doing.  Like contacting sponsors and treatening them which has already been proven.  Like making deals with guys so they don't go to the PDI.  Already been proven.  The big kid on the block is scared, that's why.

This story is true..another member of the PDI is most likely going to leave for the IFBB.

Cant say....If the athlete himself wants to spill the beans...thats his perogative (like Bobby Brown..!)

All I can say, is that I have been contacted to look into obtaining pro status in the IFBB, by this athlete.

WHy should this athlete get special treatment?  Shouldn't he have to Win the USA's, the Nationals, or his country's national championship just like everyone else?

Sorry bro...cant disclose details...only that there will be no special treatment of any kind. He is either eligible on his merits, or he's not.

So that means he has already won the USA's, Nationals, or his country's national championship?

Because if not, this will be a case of the IFBB breaking their own sacred "rules" just because they're scared of competition from the PDI, no matter how they try to justify it.

Incidentally, if it is someone is eligible for a pro card by winning one of the afforementioned contests but never applied for an IFBB pro card and instead started competing in the PDI, why would that person need any help?  Couldn't he just apply for a card?  He wouldn't have broken any IFBB rules by competing in PDI, since he was never a member of the IFBB to begin with.

OH god!!! Stop Chick stop!!! No Bobby Brown anecdotes.

Thought you had to win one of the IFBB pro qualifiers to become a 'Pro' in the IFBB... If he didn't do that, it sounds like he is getting some special treatment... Which, if true, only validates the PDI as an alternative to the IFBB anyway.

Sounds like you're damned if you do, and damned if you don't... Which is good probably... The IFBB needs some competition.

Goat, is some nations/regions you can win the proqualifier...but you may not per se get the card anyway. They might hit you with a battery of drug tests, or other things. It has to be approved by the areas federation, it is not automatic. So one may have won the right to go pro, but not ever gotten the status. It happened down here before.

Well, based on CHick's answer, it has to be Sami... he competed in the IFBB (ABBF) as an anateur and won the gulf states championship.  The only other person I could envision the IFBB wanting is Andreas Frey, but he competed in NABBA, not IFBB.  They won't take St. Cloud back, since they'd have to let Lee back too, and no way are they letting Lee back.

Unless, of course, the newest IFBB professional is none other than Jack "rhino" London!  ;D ::)
