Didn't we have a big debate about how there never is anyone reporting anything good going in a Iraq and wasn't it the contention fo some that things were getting better in Iraq but the news media (the alleged left media which is really a neotaint way of avoiding the truth) wasn't reporting it? ::)
I bring this up in light of the numerous explosions in the green zone.
Ice cream anyone? ;D

hahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
those little tricks here said the amusement park was safe.
next day, they took down a bridge and blew up a suicide bomb in the green zone.
mm69 got really quiet, stopped posting, and egj13 was born the next day. Luckly, egj knows mm69, and says he's rich and high rank and not a racist. uh-huh...

Yeah , in all fairness, the egj13 and mm69 thing is silly and far too coincidental.
The thing that gives them away in my opinion is that mm69 and egj13 both believe that a very small amount of people are born with a homosexual disposition.
I don't care either way...they are both great to talk with.

You'll rarely hear about the good things thanks to the liberal media, you will only hear what they want you to hear. We have murders in LA everyday, it's not going to stop....ever, just like in any part of the world, there will ALWAYS be violence.

Yes, that's right, we have bombs going off here everyday in the USA at markets and at malls, we also have girls being stoned to death for walking with someone of a "different religious faction". Not to mention we have bombs going off every time a US dignitary walks around Washington and Soldiers being kidnapped for political reasons. ::)
That spin of violence is everywhere is stupid.

No, it's not stupid, you act as if it's going to end, it won't end here and it sure as hell won't end there.

We don't have car bombs going off every in LA, dumbass. By your logic we should and it shouldn't be given any attention by the 'liberal media'. ::)

Where is this kind of thing going on other than Iraq?
Violence is not going to end. BUT things like the stuff above can and if BUSH did his job right it would have. Just like most of the rest of the world.
Now go back to the original assertion.

you don't have to compare iraq to the US.
Compare iraq 2001 to Iraq 2007.
Now while saddam was a prick who did some bad shit in 1979-1985 to quelch all uprisings in his country, I dare you to find any evidence whatsoever that more people died per day on average under saddam than under the current control.
Ya can't. You can use "he gassed his own people 20 years ago", well, that group tried an uprising and he gassed them all for it (much like many of you call for us to nuke 26 million iraqis - joe, i'm looking at you on this claim, as you have said it's something to consider lol!)

Yes.

Yes.
If those other 5 news organizations aren;t reporting that kind of news i would think it indicates the news isn't worthy of reporting in the face of the negative things like bombs killing people there.

"Newsworthy" = what sells, not necessarily what's actually taking place. I think organizations like CNN have an anti-war, anti-Bush agenda. Fox isn't doing it's job in reporting all of the news either, but isn't as bad as CNN. CNN has a picture of a screaming Iraqi on its front page at least once a week.

You only say this cause there are a couple of Bush nuthuggers hanging around Fox...
I mean, they admitted they were supporting the President's plans no matter what after all.

No, I say this because I watch them both and read both web sites everyday and have drawn my own conclusion.

I have also... There's a difference between anti-war and anti-bush and just speaking the truth.
Let me ask you this... Has CNN or any other news service just out and out lied about the war?
-

That depends. As I tell my kids, a half truth is a lie. So, arguably, the fact that all these news organizations, Fox included, don't report all of the news, could mean they are lying about the war.
I'm really down on CNN regarding its war coverage. As I said a few posts up, they are constantly putting a picture of a screaming Iraqi on their front page. But what I rarely see, hear, or read on CNN are some of the stories my buddy just told me about some of the great things our soldiers are doing over there (he just returned from Iraq).
I wouldn't say they are lying, I'd say they are presenting a misleading picture to the public. My position is they should report all of it, good, bad, ugly.

I don't disagree, but there are a lot of news services out there in the world, and some of them do report the good, but unfortunately, the bad definitely outweighs the good there... I truly believe "that".
-

But Tu, do you believe "that" because 99 percent the news from Iraq is bad, or because 99 percent of what you hear is bad?
-
I think organizations like CNN have an anti-war, anti-Bush agenda.
Yeah, it was nice to see the pro_Bush agenda they all had from 2001 til 2004.
That second obviously fake osama videotape released the night before the 2004 election (you know, the one where Osama told America to vote for Kerry so al quida could win!) was the straw that broke the media's back. it was so blatently obvious as a scare tactic to get folks to vote bush, that the media finally realized they were being duped and were insulted once too many times.
From that moment on, they didn't trust the white house and reversed their kissass soft positions on issues.
-
But Tu, do you believe "that" because 99 percent the news from Iraq is bad, or because 99 percent of what you hear is bad?
Perhaps...but I also hear from my Cousin who's over there right now... and he tends to see it for what it is... a Guerilla war. Which in my opinion is NEVER good. So that makes it bad... At least to me.
How bad does it have to be to be "bad"? How many people have to die? I personally think that the fact that it is a war which really has shown to be rather unnecessary, would show that it is as bad as it gets.
If you're drawn into a fight, and people die, it's one thing... when you bring the fight... and it has no reason, or a very poor one, then it's much much worse.
Iraq is bad... That's just the way it is.

I hear you. I get the same reports from one of my friends who is over there now. I'm not saying things are great in Iraq. It's a quagmire. Baghdad is a zoo.
-
Baghdad is a zoo.
They have a zoo now too?
Is that near the amusement park district?
IMO they should have surrounded the Green zone with zoos and amusement parks to keep it safe.
Or, they should have lined the borders with amusement parks to keep jihadists out. Iranians, syrians, and others don't attack the fortified positions of merry-go-rounds and ferris wheels. My old friend mm69 even told me that pink cotton candy repels islam.

It is... and really, there's too many animals to cage them all up.
Getting out of this one is not going to be easy... The Iraqi's aren't helping either... I wish they could get their shit together so we can get the fuck out.

You just keep your eye on the road.
History's lessons are in the rear view. We don't need them. All we need to know is that Osama votes democrat and you're going to hell if you criticize the white house.

Is that why Fox is #1 in the ratings and CNN (Catistrophic News Network) and PMSNBC are fighting to keep afloat?

FOX matches its views to people who watch cable news every night. It's the demo they chase. Polls show only 29% of america shares their views. But these 71% of Americans do things like watch primetime TV or spend time with their families at night.

What's with the change of nick? And will you still post Rush dribble?
-
Can one of you troops stationed in iraq walk over to the amusement park there and mail me some iraqi cotton candy? It sounds delish. thanks.
-
What's with the change of nick? And will you still post Rush dribble?
The name change was appropriate because I coach two baseball teams and spend about 25hrs week doing it.........and yes, of course I'll still be posting Rush's "stack of stuff" ;D!!

Why do you even care dude? 240 has an alter ego called "Allied Powers." Others have gimmicks. Who cares? I don't.

you also accused me of being numerous other folks, including tony baloni and others. Pretty much whenever a 9/11 skeptic pulls into town, BB labels him as 240. It helps his feeble mind process and avoid the possibility that many people out there know the official story stinks.
-
Good news.
It is rather difficult to find good news in Iraq when the embedded reporters either report from the Green (safe) zone or require armed soldier/bodyguards for reporting outside these safe areas.
So, from the outset the situation is affected by the overwhelming violence in Iraq.
And from that paradigm the media is supposed to mine for “feel good” stories?
The notion that ‘good news from Iraq’ is not getting its fair exposure is kind of foolish.
It is not the media’s job to convince the public that the service of our military people in Iraq is justified.
The job of the media is as watchdog to the government making sure it’s not lying.
Of course we know there is good news coming out of Iraq. The US gov. has planted such stories. http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php?title=Lincoln_Group#Planting_Fake_News_in_Iraq

Wrong again Pinocchio. I've only called you on being Allied Powers, because you are Allied Powers. What I find comical is when you have Allied Powers start a thread, then chime in as 240. :)

we don't call you on it.
