Got this from a thread on mayhem, probably one of the most informative threads on the net, TONS of great information on it and alot of it is just fun to read. Anyway, here's a pic of Trevor Leg Pressing, rumors are that he was pretty lean at almost 400lbs, others say he was about 300. I don't know...he looks like a big guy. I've asked Lee Priest about him and he confirmed that he was a big dude that moved some heavy ass weight. Anyway this is one shot of him doing single leg leg presses, it says that he had to do this cause he couldn't get enough wieght on the machine for him to do both legs. The guy on the side is supposed to be acting as a "counterbalance" while he's pressing BTW.

No offence, but Smith seemed to do quite a bit of ego lifting as well.
Leg presses are excellent for ego lifting, since you can pile up tons of weight, and do minimal range of motion. Also use the hands.
I doubt you will find Smith ever doing deadlifts, since that is the roughest on the ego. Probably stuck with rack deadlifts, and had some good explanation why those were much better than the real deal.
That's not to say he was very strong.
But he couldn't hang with Ronnie Coleman on Ronnie's worst day. That's my opinion.

well his training revolved around alot of drop sets, forced reps and some other techniques he developed so I don't know if deads would really work. Some of the poundages they have him moving in that thread are unreal. There is supposedly a video of him training done awhile before he passed away and rumor is that he's moving gigantic weight in the whole thing.

That's Dorian Yates

Yea, I would tend to say that his lifts were BIG ego lifts.

So true. Exercises at these massive weights do not build muscle. They just serve to sell "proprietary" training methods.

this is the thread that's from, it really is one of the best I've read in along time, lots of great stuff on there, great interviews with Vic Richards, Demayo and Lee Priest. Trevor talks alot about site injections, roids, diet, training.....even if you don't believe in his training system it's still a great read.

what's wrong with a smith machine? >:(
