61st IFBB MEN'S WORLD BODYBUILDING CHAMPIONSHIPS,JEJU island,SOUTH KOREA

actually it is only the 48th  (18 IFBB Mr Unvierse contests plus 30 World Amateur Championships)  (every year since 1959 except 1961)

but the first four had professionals in it, so they can't be considered amateur championships, so maybe this year is the 44th.

And while the IFBB did hold a few contests in 1948, 1949, 1950, and 1952, they held absolutely none in 51, or 53-58, nor any before 1948.

you mean of the entire history of the IFBB Mr Universe or World Amateur Championships?  None of the winners.  But there is no requirement that they be.   Since the mid 1990s, it's only been required that they be 3 years drug free.   But since there is no random testing throughout the year, there is no way to prove anyone meets that rule.

1959 - Eddie Silvestre
1960 - Chuck Sipes
1962 - George Eiferman
1963 - Harold Poole
1964 - Larry Scott
1965 - Earl Maynard
1966 - Dave Draper
1967 - Sergio Oliva
1968 - Frank Zane
1969 - Arnold Schwarzenegger
1970 - Franco Columbu
1971 - Albert Beckles
1972 - Ed Corney
1973 - Lou Ferrigno
1974 - Lou Ferrigno
1975 - Ken Waller
1976 - Robby Robinson
1978 - Tom Platz
1979-1980 - no overall winner declared
1981 - Lance Dreher
1982-1994 - no overall winner declared
1995 - Agathoklis Agathoklous
1996 - Jeno Kiss
1997 - Ahmad Haidar
1998 - Hamdullah Aykutlu
1999 - Jaroslav Horvath
2000 - Serguei Dimitriev

No I do not believe it is possible to compete at the national level in any bodybuilding org as a truly lifetime natural.

comparing today's compettitors with BBers before steroids I have come to the same conclusion.

Now we need some healthy muscle building drugs to become available so that the pursuit of health and physical development can be reunited.

How do you conclude that, bodybuilders who claim to be natural aren't simply because they're bigger than natural bodybuilders of yesteryear?

Plus, being too ripped got them marked down, back in the day.

Did they have the supplements we have today? No! Natural bodybuilders today can easily ingest twice as much protein as their old-school counterparts, because they don't have to rely almost exclusively on regular food. Not to mention, today's builders have other goodies like creatine, that they can use in substantial amounts, which would be nearly impossible to get from regular food.

Were their diets as strict or done for as long as those are today? Highly unlikely! I don't recall any old-timers dieting for nearly 5-6 months to get ready for a show. Many of them, from what I've read, simply cut their starches to drop bodyfat for their contests.

Did they manipulate their diets to get rid of subcutaneous water? Nope! Plus, being super-ripped got them marked down in contests, back in the day, because it didn't look healthy.

Did the old-timers get buck-wild with their cardio? Probably not, outside the occasional jog in the park or on the track. How many times have you heard of John Grimek or Steve Reeves, hitting the treadmill twice a day for months on end?

These factors are among the reasons that today's natural bodybuilders are bigger and more defined than their predecessors.

if all these supplements like Creatine, NO, or Cold Microfiltered Ion Exchanged Hydrolyzed Protein Isolate™ really have an effect on muscle building, then why isn't the average gym goer so much bigger than those from 20-30 years ago?

neither strict diets nor cardio build mass.  and if the modern competition bodybuilder is doing so much more cardio, then there is even more reason that they need drugs to build and keep the mass.
