All day!  85lb seated shoulder presses are an impressive weight for a natural female or a newbie.  By the time you grow some hair on your chest you should be working with 100+ for 8-12.

Hope this helps.

Warm regards,

you are bragging about 85 for 20  :-\

That is really nothing to brag about.  I believe I could do 20.  I train a lot heavier though so i'm not sure.

You're right, you're not sure because since you train so heavy you're probalby not used to high-rep shoulder pressing.

20 reps is impressive for any gym goer, especially on this board.

I normally do 110s for about 6, although by then I've already done 3 sets of seated barbell presses to failure (triple drops). 85s are no big deal for someone your size dude

Also, I'm not sure why every decent thread needs to decend into farce. I think squad is pretty funny at times but he doesn't show respect to those that are obviously better informed or in better shape. It's a shame cause you seem like a decent guy  ???

i never replied to your dumbass when you make comments on this picture; becaus ei look pretty good in it; and i dont give a fuck about looking MONSTROUS. but obviously; you must be mentally retarded to not recognize that taking a picture at that angle, with your arm in that position, with that distance from the camera will make it SEEM incredibly smaller.

since you seem to be obsessed with SIZE rather than amount of appeal(which honsetly; i highly doub you truley feel that way..you just say so so it seems like you are happy with you current body shape. you wish you were thin and in shape; or even had muscle..but you are just fat; and fat people can puff up their chests and act like its muscle and pull it off pretty decently; at least, that is, to the general public. but your fooling non eof us; you fat fuck.) here are soem pictures showing my arm SIZE

compared to yours; honestly; i would have to be completely insane, not to mention mentally retarded and under the influence of several different kinds of illegal and legal drugs, to think that my arms didnt look absolutely fabulous next to yours.   and every single person with eyes that work properly would agree. there is not, despit what you may think, any woman who prefers a chunky man with little muscle to a in shape man with muscle.  you are NO females type. you walk around thnking that maybe there are some females who will dig you, or that are chubby chasers, or that like a "Big" man. you are WRONG. while there might be some nasty desperate hoes out there that would pity fuck you; you are an ugly waste of a human body.

now compared to other posters on this board...no; my arms are not any thing great; or even above average.

i love how these clowns try to bring all this other shit into it "i'll do it if you sign over the title to your house, car, first born son, clothes, money and if you delete your account, blah, blah, blah", hahahaha if these guys could do what they say they would just do it and shut everyone up.

First you guys got me interested in licking a woman's asshole...now I'm starting to call bullshit too! I spend way too much time on getbig.  ;D  I plan on posting another video on a side note..of my closed grip nows to have another form check. To the chest feels no different than parallel and it's not that much harder either. Go figure...

SS is a big dude DL5... I'm not schmoe'n but I like to see big iron being flung around. He can push the big weights and knows what it takes to get there to he has a reason to call bullshit. Hell anyone can do 225 is a big dude in my book..tha'ts more than the average gym turd maxes on teh bench!

i've pulled 545 for a very hard single at my best.

I've seen his picture and its possible.

The most i ever did was when I was lifting with heaps of momentum (cant believe i never injured myself), and i pulled 360 (including the bar) for several reps. All i remember is that i felt like my hamstrings were going to rip out of my legs and that I could have injured myself.

My best this year is 220 slow and controlled for 5 reps (lets just say it felt really fuckin heavy and i had to give it my all) I aim to get to 250, but i dont do explosive lifts so my poundages are not that high. i am not comfortable doing them explosively anymore.

Yeah, but in order to do that it means going back on the gear which I can't be fucked doing so I doubt it.

I'll quite happily post a vid of me pressing the 85's for at least 15 reps though.

The question is, will you?

Lets face it man, you'll never post a video on here. It would require too many special angles, lighting, smoke, mirrors, and special effects to make you look right.

if u want the diet i propose simply follow it and u will get cut. I have lost a massive amount of weight this year, so I'm actually slowing it down so that i dont get stretched skin around the mid section (plus im exhausted from dropping 80 pounds).

whilst i am no way comparing myself to arnold. im am 225 and look larger than that weight suggests.

Arnold was 6'2 and 235 yet looked much larger is that laughable? its not about how heavy you weigh. someone obviously forgot to tell you that judging by your plus 35% bodyfat percentage. we could all add 40lbs by being as fat as yourself

So my arms flexed cold are the same size as your.arms whilst at 20% less bodyfat. If you got to my bodyfat you would have 16.5" arms having juiced in the past.

Also at 235 or what ever you are to get to my leaness you would need to drop 40lbs

Shit one for you. My strength or lack of it is infact average at best though i have time on my side. You dont. In 15 years ill be repping 400lb on the bench when you will be having your ass cleeaned by home help cos ur so foking obese.

Goudy, I'm tellin you right now, if you're gettin 20 reps on 85s you could slam up 110s (or a bit more) for a few good quality reps no problem.   Wrap your wrists and give it a roll with a good spotter some time.

hahahaha

i wasnt even shittin...I saw one dude in the gym do it and he wasnt like overly huge. And im usually pretty stronger than i look. Well he got like 7 reps of 5 plates (495) well i was like "sheeeeeeeeit i can do a couple" man i got over that shit and i tried to pull. Maaaaaaaaan it felt like i was about to pop my God Damn head off. That shit moved about a good inch and i started movin crazy and it just stayed there.

I've done so much stupid shit in gyms across Texas....gotten trapped in a leg press; dropped a db that was too heavy on my face and split my fuggin lip; tripped and fell on a short step in front of 3 hot chicks on elliptical machines; broke a back machine;  broke a Smith machine (twice); lost my grip doin shrugs and stumbled backwards; dislocated my knee randomly and was taken out by EMS cause I couldn't get it back in the socket; dislocated my shoulder on heavy db presses and dropped a db on some guys foot; slipped in puddle by a waterfountain and busted my dumbass (that was late night and no one was around, but it still sucked)......I think you get my point.

I'm sure Iv'e posted this before but it apllies here.

Me and my buddy were doing weighted dips between a chair and a bench, using a loaded curling bar for the weight.

After the set my friend put down ONE LEG and his other leg acts as a fulcrum, the weights slide off one side and BLAM!! knocks him the fuck out, opening a nice gash on the side of his head.

It was one of those moments that your'e laughing your ass off and trying to help at the same time.

Goudy is talking here about deep press, touching the shoulder, a lot of monsters here claim to push big weights, my quess is you do quarter reps if you press the 120's.

yes they are doing american presses (half and quarter shoulder presses) + goudy has not used steroids...and steroids increase shoulder pressing strengh alot....

hahahaha, yeah because we all know that when you inject a steroid they send a message directly to the deltoid muscles to immedialtely press more weight but the steroids don't send that message to other bodyparts. ::)

no but its something i have noticed in guys who start using steroids..their shoulders often grow the most (compared to a natural)...shoulders and upper traps often seem to balloon up fast....i think it has something to do with number of receptors in the muscle.

I think it's more to do with the fact they as soon as they start using, they change their training schedule to benching 5x a week

yes thats one part of it def, but i think that "aas receptor density" is higher in the shoulder and traps area...same with quads...but its not like i got any scientific proof...just an observation i have made.

I didn't read the entire thread after Goudy posted his video but the dude is strong as hell for his age and the amount of time he has been training. he is also a lifetime natural. consider his height and how long his arms are, you can tell he could probably press the 100's with good form for a few reps. i know juicers who can barely half rep the 100's and they have been training for a long time.

I remember reading somewhere that prolonged use of AAS actually stimulates better receptor response (this probably isnt the right terminology but you get the idea) in the lower body than just short term use - hence why the modern bbs (who are supposedly always 'on') have much larger legs in general than the bbs of the 70s (who allegedly used aas more sparingly).  This same article also commented on the higher density of receptors in the upper body, hence why aas users are often distinguished by big delts/traps/chest.

Cant remember where i got this from so cant really comment on its reliability...

Yes, just cos someone can do a few on 110 doesn't mean for a second they can do 20 on 85! Some of these guys are so funny, like "stop showing off, 85 is nothing compared to 120 which is what I do", lol, hus showing off themselves, haha. Anyway, well done, I challenge all the 110 pressers to try 85 for 20! In fact I bet Squadfeatures et al would not attempt it for fear of failure and the high rep burn.

85's for 20 is a damn good lift but i have to say from watching that those db's look awfully small to be 85's, they look more like 55's or 60's to be in total honesty.

no, i never videod it. I know this look ssuspect though look how eay the original video looked.

Today i made up 93.5lb dumbells (6x15lb plates on a 1.5kg (3.3lb) spinlock collar) easily repped it for a couple sets of ten them stopped. Was not near failure. Id guess myabe 16 fresh would have been as i done the 20reps 85s yesterday.

Ill definately take a few ids tomorro.

One for SF to show how small teh 85's look despite being 85 and another of the 93.5lb bells.

Thanks for kind owrds againi definately could do 100lbs for at least 10 reps. nothing to boast about but with my ROM its not bad.

I couldn't tell ya i warm up with the 110's

I used to warm up with 110's but then realized I get better initial blood circulation through my delts if I go with 125's for an easy 18 - 22 reps.  then i start getting serious  8)  You should give it a shot as I'm sure the 110's are boring you by now.

Our gym's dumbells only go up to 120's.  The only problem I have with pressing them is the size of the dumbell.  They are ivanko vulcanized (rubber coated) which makes them almost too long to use.

its currently uploading on utube so ill post a link v soon

Great lifts.  When I did direct shoulder work, I always did standing militaries with full ROM.  I've had to stop doing that recently though because of a nagging pain in the right shoulder.  I'm pretty sure it's not a rotator problem, just some inflammation or irritation in the socket.

HOW DO U SAVE THE ROTATOR????

No idea at this point.  I still have aggravation in my right shoulder and have been doing DB benches instead, which doesn't cause really much pain.  I haven't had an MRI done yet but I'm starting to think it is a rotator issue.  I'm in my early 30s and it sucks thinking I may never BB bench heavy again.  I've done 405 many times for 1 rep (455 is my all time RAW max but that was a few years ago) but I really wanted to get that 500 RAW eventually.  No way that's happenin' at this rate. :-\  I may have to become a bodybuilder after all. ;D

Dorian Yates always used full ROM and perfect form and retired because of injuries.   The truth is everyone has muscular imbalances, with most people their right side is dominant if they're right handed and their left side is dominant if they're left handed.

its because the brain cant split the electrical signal evenly to both sides of the body hence uneven extension
