Anyway...

85s are pretty decent for dumbbell presses assuming it is a full ROM movement.

just the man i wanted to hear from. I do full range like where my elbows go below parallel (to the floor) and i was told that that hurts your delts more than helps

Goudy, I'm tellin you right now, if you're gettin 20 reps on 85s you could slam up 110s (or a bit more) for a few good quality reps no problem.   Wrap your wrists and give it a roll with a good spotter some time.

I've done so much stupid shit in gyms across Texas....gotten trapped in a leg press; dropped a db that was too heavy on my face and split my fuggin lip; tripped and fell on a short step in front of 3 hot chicks on elliptical machines; broke a back machine;  broke a Smith machine (twice); lost my grip doin shrugs and stumbled backwards; dislocated my knee randomly and was taken out by EMS cause I couldn't get it back in the socket; dislocated my shoulder on heavy db presses and dropped a db on some guys foot; slipped in puddle by a waterfountain and busted my dumbass (that was late night and no one was around, but it still sucked)......I think you get my point.

I'm sure Iv'e posted this before but it apllies here.

Me and my buddy were doing weighted dips between a chair and a bench, using a loaded curling bar for the weight.

After the set my friend put down ONE LEG and his other leg acts as a fulcrum, the weights slide off one side and BLAM!! knocks him the fuck out, opening a nice gash on the side of his head.

It was one of those moments that your'e laughing your ass off and trying to help at the same time.

Goudy is talking here about deep press, touching the shoulder, a lot of monsters here claim to push big weights, my quess is you do quarter reps if you press the 120's.

yes they are doing american presses (half and quarter shoulder presses) + goudy has not used steroids...and steroids increase shoulder pressing strengh alot....

hahahaha, yeah because we all know that when you inject a steroid they send a message directly to the deltoid muscles to immedialtely press more weight but the steroids don't send that message to other bodyparts. ::)

no but its something i have noticed in guys who start using steroids..their shoulders often grow the most (compared to a natural)...shoulders and upper traps often seem to balloon up fast....i think it has something to do with number of receptors in the muscle.

I think it's more to do with the fact they as soon as they start using, they change their training schedule to benching 5x a week

it's prob cause they aren't too scared to shoulder press when on.

yes thats one part of it def, but i think that "aas receptor density" is higher in the shoulder and traps area...same with quads...but its not like i got any scientific proof...just an observation i have made.

I didn't read the entire thread after Goudy posted his video but the dude is strong as hell for his age and the amount of time he has been training. he is also a lifetime natural. consider his height and how long his arms are, you can tell he could probably press the 100's with good form for a few reps. i know juicers who can barely half rep the 100's and they have been training for a long time.
