Title: Training split depriving bodyparts?
Post by: tomgreynolds on November 04, 2007, 09:27:02 AM
I need some advice here, I cannot get to the gym very often, so I only have 3 days a week to train all my bodyparts. This is my current split:

Day 1: Chest, Shoulders, Triceps

Day 2: Back, Biceps

Day 3: Legs

My question.... is my chest suffering from being worked first? because i train rather quickly but after i finish chest, I spend about 20-25 mins on shoulders and triceps, and then I have a 15 minute drive home to get in my PWO shake and food. This adds up to about 35-45 mins between stopping chest training and my PWO meal, which I feel might be depriving it of nutrients, post workout. Same goes for my back.

Any suggestions?

Why don't you just bring a shake with bcaa with your and sip on it while you train.

Which is sad, because the other parts ofyour life would benefit from a bigger, better you.

You might as well take up tennis lessons those 3 days for 45 minutes.

Also I bet you don't miss "American idol" or "Chuck" each week, huh champ?

Thanks for the positive comment. What's Chuck? I must not be as caught up on prime time sitcoms are you are, Champ.

I train 6 days a week and still have time to watch TV.

Tell us, where does all your time go?  Working nights at the local gloryhole?

Haha, my time goes to other places than getbig 24 hours a day. Please stop leaving pointless comments, Mr. Dimano. I won't engage in an online argument with you, even though I know you don't have anything else to do.

Try HST (Hypertrophy Specific Trainnig).

Much better especially if you are natural.

and might also bring your shake to the Gym.

What's wrong with 3 times a week?

I got better gains when I went down to training three times a week.

Check out HST, there's a link for training protocols on the training board.

Also, get a small amino acid or protein drink (cerca 10 grams) in 30 minutes before workout, then sip on some carbs during the workout.

There are different versions of full body routines, too. Where you train a full body routine twice or three times a week, 6-10 excersises in total, 2-4 excersises each.

three times is more than enough for a natural if you train hard and heavy.

You should post this on the training board.

Did you read past that part at all? The answer to your question is right there....

Yes, getting your pwo shake 45 minutes after you do your last chest exercise instead of 15 minutes will impede growth in that area tremendously.  I would reccomend one of those helmets that people drink beer out of so you can drink your shake right during the course of a bench press.  Also, make sure the helment says "skull-hammering doucheness" because that perfectly describes the original question asked.

take a pwo shake after you finish every muscle group hahaha.

Just take a big one after you're done training.
