Craig is fighting back tears as he watches the woman he loves in distress. How hard it must be for this man's man not to be able to comfort his woman and wrap his swole arms around her delicate frame. I feel so much for the guy that this glance at his wife, the woman he loves, is all that he will have for many, many years. How bitterly cruel that he must drink in this painful moment as it will be last time he is this close to her and will hear her voice and glance upon her face without the intrusion of glass or wire.

Melissa loved Craig and she certainly doesn't want his life to be ruined over this. If it's not what she wanted then who are we to go against her wishes. The only way for some good to come out of this mess is that Craig and Kelly, who have clearly demonstrated they are uber-sorry, live a productive life together.

He lost half a leg in an attack but he still films them and doesn't hate them - loves them in fact - and he accepts fully that it is in their nature to do these things and he entered their environment.

The average cost to any state for a prisioner is 50 to 60K per year, if there were more states with the DEATH PENALTY in the USA, there would be far less crime...

Sorry Keith. Unless a prisoner waives his rights and proceeds directly to execution (very rare!) the cost of housing a prisoner in special facilities for years and years, as well as lengthy (sometimes decades worth!) extra-judicial appeals can run into the millions upon millions of dollars. :P
Add: The cost of an execution itself is considerable!

Where Craig showed "something" though, is that I truly believe he's taking the heat and trying to get the woman that he loves out of the slammer... I think they were both involved and she's just as shitty as him, but he is going to get her out so she can live her life.

Superb post. I think Kelly may be far more involved but what Craig has done is fall on his sword for her, for the woman he loves.
He is a hellraiser but the love he and Kelly have is very touching. In many ways he is the classic man of honor.
