Title: I Knew this would Happen
Post by: Option D on October 05, 2012, 07:03:17 AM
As we all know....I Malcolm Pigford, being of sound mind and body stated that Romney Won the Debate. That is well documented. *that was my disclaimer*

But i did state that win was conditional, based on results of Fact Checking. And the first wave hasnt been so kind to Mitt according to media sources.

Now i dont know what exactly was untrue about what was said. Im sure it will come out tho.

All of those rags are all in the tank for obama and are desperate to drag his ignorant blabbering blathering dolting ass over the line.

The latest jobs report is the biggest Obama lie.

Why don't liberals jump at the opportunity of "fact checking" that temp/part time jobs report.

That is the latest excuse by obama cult members to excuse away the fact that obama was shown to be every bit as uninformed, ignorant, inept, incompetent, and iliterate as many of us have said over the years.

Predictable as a Monday is long. The kneepadders go into hibernation as Obama gets destroyed. They have their pity party, wait for the official White-House excuse for that woodshed whipping, then parrot the talking points ad nauseum, while avoiding the fact-checking that refutes Obama's claims (including one done by his own deputy campaign manager) like the bubonic plague.

Of course, they can't explain why Romney was so easily able to burn down all of Obama's strawmen Wednesday, making Obama look like a fool in the process.

Yep. Lots of people and media members in denial, total denial.

At this point in time "Fact Checks" are just another way to spin and attack.

And what if Obama's statements are factually inaccurate (well, one of them is, per his own deputy campaign manager)?

The fact is Obama had no answer to these alleged inaccuracies; whereas Romney shredded Obama's claims all night long.

The obama at that debate is the same ignorant idiot we have to deal w every day.

Its only morons and dreamers who bought into the media hype about an empty suit like obama.   I hope those fools take a good long look in the mirror and see what they have become.

Fact Checkers, they check facts. If they check the fact and its inaccuate..like What are we talking about right now? There is no "authority" when it comes to facts. It either is true or it isnt true.

Who is doing the "Fact Checking?" What organization are they a part of? What sources and information are they using? What sources, information and context are they leaving out?

Those factors, among others, can be easily twisted and tweaked to manufacture an outcome.

If someone is dead wrong then they are dead wrong. But this whole "Fact Checker" obsession that is now being pumped out is being used as more spin.

Ill agree to that. If a "fact checker" presents his findings and they are true... then its a good source.

I will tell you whats funny... this statement below... Its never practiced.. by either side

Fact checkers are just a new way to spin it and get the public to buy it. Think about it - both sides have fact checkers, and one side will check a fact and claim its true, and the other one will claim it's false. They're no different than any other biased MSM source, just they put a fancy label on it and people think they're unbiased because they use "facts" (but still massage the data)

Exactly. What they're really doing is evaluating statements as they deem fit. James Taranto of the WSJ has written quite extensively about the joke these things are.

The best is when they fact check opinions with opinions of their own. I've read plenty of these "Well, while that's technically true, blah, blah."

Exactly. Or they pick and choose the data they're going to use.

"Well, its false assuming we use this data here, and this group of people over here, and make the assumption that Darth Vaders uncles cousins former roommate is gay.... therefore, we've concluded that in fact, it is a touchdown, not a home run like Romney was claiming, and therefore women will no longer be able to have abortions and all poor people will die due to the rich."

Notice how its mostly libs parroting this garbage on fact checking opinions now?

I actually am beginning to pity people like Mal, Blacken, Andre, etc.

They have lived in a liberal bubble for so long and believe in so many false narratives and fale premises on so many topics that when it actually put to the test and demolished like Scott Walker in Wisconsin, the 2010 Mid Terms, Christie, Scott Brown, and the debate this week where their supposedly brilliant harvard lawyer got exposed for the phoney, fake, and incompetent blithering dolt we have said he was for a long time - their entire world implodes since they don't know how to react.

The sad thing is that they actually believe the nonsense they speak.

When Obama is sent packing and turned back to Chicago they are going to melt down beyond anything we have ever seen.

They just cant grasp the reality that basically everything they support and believe is based on a lie and is total horseshit.  In the meantime, ill enjoy the beatings obama is going to take in the next two debates.

That's what we've been asking for HOURS, Ozmo.

Instead we get gibberish such as that of that goof, Blacken, who has ducked the issue about Obama's deputy campaign manager and the $5 trillion tax cut.

And, the TK members are reluctant to show how Romney was so easily able to chop down Obama's claims, while Obama was mush-mouthed when Romney put the spurs to him.

This is little but excuse-making for Obama getting pounded in the debate.

They always have excuses for losing.

To hear excuses for a narrow defeat, press 1.
To hear excuses for a decisive loss, press 2.
To hear excuses for being taken to the woodshed and having your hind quarters beaten raw, press 3.

Well, technically your claim about Darth Vader's uncle's former roommate being gay is true, there was a rumor of a rumor about another rumor that he is actually bi-sexual. As a result, I have to label your claim "patently false".

Wrong again.

Of course you don't care what Cutter says, because it torpedoes your little diatribe and puts it in Davey Jones' locker.

Obama floated that crap about the $5 trillion in tax cuts, during the debates, at least THREE TIMES and Romney cut him down on every occasion. Now Cutter admits the claim was false. Obama had no answer and looked like a fool onstage.

But, O spineless one, you still ducked the question at hand about Cutter, not to mention weaseling away from Obama's inability to counter Romney's supposed lies. The lights were on bright and Obama didn't get it done.

In case it hasn't dawned on your feeble little head, your claiming that Romney's lying and his ACTUALLY lying are two different things.

Now, she admits that what Obama's been spewing about Romney's tax plan is false and you tuck your testicle-lacking tail and run.

How utterly pathetic.

Bottom line -Romney is going to continue to lie and if Obama doesn't challenge him IN THE DEBATE for lying then LYING WORKS because most people believe the lies

Making excuses the day after a debate that your opponent lied is f'ng useless

Bottom line - Romney cleaned Obama's clock, beating back every single false claim about his policies that Obama threw at him, especially the $5 trillion tax cut one, which Obama's own deputy campaign manager admitted was bogus (a minor fact from which Blacken continues to cower, despite his feigned outrage about lying).

What's the excuse going to be if Romney clobbers him again in about two weeks?

There is truth to this. The masses are generally easily influenced... if he's not called out in front of everyone, he who lies without being challenged is, for all intents and purposes, telling the truth. Both sides do this.

Yet, the lefties can't explain why Romney so easily cut down Obama's claims, while Obama got absolutely mute, when Romney took it to him.

If these alleged lies were so plentiful, as excuse-making libs keep claiming, Obama (Mr. genius, Mr. Nobel Prize winner) should have been able to deal with at least one of them handily. Instead, he got mashed and the very falsehood he kept purporting not only got debunked by Romney but by his own deputy campaign manager.

false

Romney has said repeatedly that he wants an across the board 20% tax cut which the Tax Policy Center has calculated to be ~ 4.8 trillion dollars.   What Obama should have done is get Romney to admit that he has pledged to cut taxes by 20% and then, with that point of agreement, start to nail him on the missing details which are how exactly he is going to pay for it.

That's the way to box in the liar and show the American people that he is a con man

He would either have to deny he ever said he wanted a 20% across the board tax cut or admit he has no clue how he's going to pay for it..... period

He could do the same thing with every topic. Get Romney to admit a point of fact which has has already stated and then nail him on the details

What part of "Romney doesn't have a $5 trillion dollar tax cut" don't you understand? Even his own deputy campaign manager ADMITTED SUCH on CNN. Plus, there's that pesky link 333386 just posted.

Obama brought that mess up at least three times during the debate and Romney shot him down, each time.

Yet, when Romney kept clubbing Obama with the economic numbers and reminding Obama "You're the president", that he's been in the oval office for nearly four years, Obama clammed up quickly.

No matter what Obama threw at Romney, Romney sliced and diced it up then put the boots to the president in pure beatdown fashion, even on ObamaCare (which was the very subject Romney wasn't supposed to touch).

In primetime, with the lights on bright, in front of over 60 million people, Romney took Obama to the woodshed and beat his backside, until it was glowing in the dark. All the post-debate whining and excuses doesn't change that.

Again, what's going to be the excuse, if Romney goes upside Obama's head again in about two weeks?

So everything Romney stated went over your head or you rejected because you didn't like the way he spoke to lil' obama?

If Romney had been on the receiving end of Obama's "verbal abuse", you would be here extolling the virtues of Obama's superior intellect.

Very subtle but effective.

Obama has been pampered his whole life by messianic cult worshippers and does not know how to take a punch.

I have no problem with the way Romney handled himself during the debate.

I think he did a great job.

Dario must not be paying attention to what I'm saying, or else he's just interpreting what he wants to.

The "Verbal Abuse" was just that... I did not say there was anything wrong with it.

If thinks that I'm an Obama shill then they certainly haven't been paying attention.

I've listed numerous fuckups I hate Obama for and they can go back through the political section to see it.

Romney did verbally abuse obama in many ways, some direct to his face, others very subtle and sometimes even more effective ways.

Its was verbal abuse - obama got dismembered verbally.  I think he did not prepare and thought the mod questions would be more on social issues.

And, if that weren't enough, they're claiming that Romney had some secret handkerchief (I'm dead serious, folks) with note on it, which is why he countered Obama so easily.

Obama pays price for ducking the questions
By Dana Milbank, Published: October 4

Barack Obama received a valuable reminder in his drubbing at Wednesday night’s debate: He is a president, not a king.

In the hours after the Republican challenger Mitt Romney embarrassed the incumbent in their first meeting, Obama loyalists expressed puzzlement that the incumbent had done badly. But Obama has only himself to blame, because he set himself up for Wednesday’s emperor-has-no-clothes moment. For the past four years, he has worked assiduously to avoid being questioned, maintaining a regal detachment from the media and other sources of dissent and skeptical inquiry.

Obama has set a modern record for refusal to be quizzed by the media, taking questions from reporters far less often than Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton and even George W. Bush. Though his opponent in 2008 promised to take questions from lawmakers like the British prime minister does, Obama has shied from mixing it up with members of Congress, too. And, especially since Rahm Emanuel’s departure, Obama is surrounded by a large number of yes men who aren’t likely to get in his face.

This insularity led directly to the Denver debacle: Obama was out of practice and unprepared to be challenged. The White House had supposed that Obama’s forays into social media — town hall meetings with YouTube, Twitter, Facebook and the like — would replace traditional presidential communication. By relying on such venues, Obama’s argument skills atrophied, and he was ill-equipped to engage in old-fashioned give and take.

Luckily for Obama, the debates are, as one adviser put it Thursday, “a three-game series.” Romney’s after-debate glow will likely fade as he attempts to explain his dubious assertions that he would not reduce taxes paid by the wealthy and that his tax cuts wouldn’t increase the deficit. But even if Obama ultimately prevails, he should remember Denver as a warning: He does himself no favors by hiding from tough questioning.

Towson University political scientist Martha Kumar, who keeps a running tally of Obama’s media appearances, tells me he has had 19 solo news conferences in the White House as of Sept. 30. That compares to 26 for Ronald Reagan at the same point in his presidency, 59 for George H.W. Bush, and 31 for Bill Clinton. Obama had more formal news conferences than George W. Bush (13), but Bush engaged in many more informal Q&A sessions with reporters: 340 at this stage in his presidency to Obama’s 105. (Clinton had 585 at this point, the elder Bush had 309 and Reagan had 135.)

Obama hasn’t held a full-fledged news conference at the White House since March. After a Cabinet meeting in July, a reporter tried to ask him whether new gun laws were needed after the Colorado shooting — and Obama brushed off the inquiry with a joke.

In lieu of taking hard questions, Obama has opted for gauzy, soft-focus interviews with the likes of “Entertainment Tonight,” gentle appearances on late-night comedy shows, kid-glove satellite hits with regional TV stations, and joint appearances with the first lady where questions are certain to be gentle. Tough questions are rare in one-on-one interviews, because Obama has more control over the topic — and the interviewer wants to be invited back.

The problem of president-in-the-bubble isn’t unique to this one. As Democrats were quick to point out Wednesday night, other incumbent presidents — Jimmy Carter, Reagan and both Bushes — did poorly in their first debates. One former Obama White House official directly attributed Obama’s diminished debating skills to four years in the White House removed from verbal sparring.

Obama’s body language conveyed a sense that he felt it beneath him to be sharing a stage with Romney. The Republican National Committee released a video Thursday morning titled “Smirk” that showed Obama’s reaction to Romney’s barbs (eyes downcast, lips pursed, taking notes). He frequently tossed in phrases that indicated annoyance with the proceedings, which he thought were covering old ground (“We’ve had this discussion before. . . . As I indicated earlier. . . . ”).

After a night to sleep on it, and some time to huddle with aides, Obama on Thursday found the lively retorts that had eluded him Wednesday night. “When I got onto the stage, I met this very spirited fellow who claimed to be Mitt Romney,” he told supporters in Denver. “But it couldn’t have been Mitt Romney because the real Mitt Romney has been running around the country for the last year promising $5 trillion in tax cuts that favor the wealthy. The fellow on stage last night said he didn’t know anything about that.”

Nice comeback. Had Obama allowed himself to be challenged over the past four years, he might have come up with it in real time.

I agree... The only thing I can say on that is that just "watching it" or "listening" to it... It seemed as if Romney went over longer than Obama.

Not until the very end did I realize that Obama had gone WAY over.

Probably more about "appearance", but let's be honest... "appearances" don't mean shit when it comes to this.

The bottom line is that Romney looked WAY fucking better and WAY more prepared than Obama.

Again, what's going to be the excuse, if Romney goes upside Obama's head again in about two weeks?

I said 4.8 Trillion and not 5 Trillion

Agreed... in this debate, Romney took it to him and definitely won over a lot of voters.
He gave Obama a verbal shellacking the likes of which he had never received before.

Another debate like that and Obama is done... End of story.

I'm not aware this has been verified yet

I know that. That same organization revised their report and blasted the Obama administration for using their initial findings to suggest Romney wanted to raise taxes on the middle class.

Plus, Cutter acknowledged on CNN that the $5 trillion tax cut (or $4.8 trillion, if you prefer) claim was bogus.

The CNN poll after the debate (which I switched to after Fox News) showed it.

That's pretty verifiable.

what did the poll show ?

I went here and the only nation polls (CNN poll of polls - National)  I see are Oct 1 and Oct 2nd and both show 49 - 46 for Obama

The debate was Oct 3 but I don't see any polls for the 4th or 5th

It was not a web poll.

I was WATCHING CNN after the debate and they had an immediate poll of independent people who watched the debate.

Go find it on YouTube or something.

ok - well I don't see any polls as of yet that show that Romney "won over lots of voters" whatever that term actually means

are you sure the poll you saw wasn't asking who they thought won the debate rather than who they intended to vote for ?

Romney swayed a lot of independent voters this week. No doubt.

He swayed me for sure.

I don't go looking for your idiotic posts and if you want to make a claim then post a link or I'll assume it's total bullshit (in your case)

Now, the lefties are going after the moderator, bl

the morning after the debate, the headline on foxnews.com was that Leher was the real loser of the debate, and it detailed how out of contorl he was.

Lol @ "the lefties".   FOX said it first, and they were right, the dude does need to scoot aside, he looked a little confused and let people go over by 60 seconds at times.

FOX news said the moderator had zero control of the debate, and they pointed out one situation where romney was given 3 minutes to answer a 2 minute quesiton, and never addressed the question.   http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2012/10/03/lehrers-road-kill-showing-makes-obamas-weak-debate-performance-look-good/

so the poll you saw asked if voters were swayed??

the link I posted has LOTS of CNN polls and yet the one you saw doesn't seem to be there

no other polls that I've seen since the debate show "lots" of people switching to Romney

I'm not saying you're wrong or didn't see what you claim to have seen.... I just can't find anything to prove it is correct

The Fox guys said the exact opposite of what the lefties were saying. They wanted the moderator to get out of the way and let Romney and Obama go at it. The lefties are irate, because (in their minds) Leher did just that, standing idle while Obama got the taste slapped out his mouth.

The link with the revised report is here.

http://taxpolicycenter.org/taxtopics/romney-plan.cfm

that's the exact same link that I gave to you on page 4 and it says "the Romney plan would lower federal tax liability by about $900 billion in calendar year 2015 compared with current law, roughly a 24 percent cut in total projected revenue. Relative to a current policy baseline, the reduction in liability would be about $480 billion in calendar year 2015."..... which is 4.8 billion over 10 years

You wrote   "That same organization revised their report and blasted the Obama administration for using their initial findings to suggest Romney wanted to raise taxes on the middle class." yet the link you just provided doesn't show that at all

OK, so I finally watched the farce that as the 1st Presidential debate.

My conclusion: The fix was in, ...and Obama didn't help himself much.

On substance: Obama won on facts and substance.

On style: Without a doubt, Romney delivered on style, ...even if he was full of crap.

Romney dumbed it down, and dished it out... whereas Obama expected the audience to be up to speed. Romney was definitely drilled & practiced for this one, ...and it was clear Obama had a whole heckuva lot he was dealing with besides the campaign, ...like Bibi trying to stir up shit in the ME.

I won't even go into the camera angles and CUs because it was pretty clear Romney was to be showcased in a better light. And as for whoever did the President's makeup, ...they should be taken out and shot. PERIOD!

If you have missed many of my posts here, you will see that I believe both candidates work for the same puppet master.

My only interest in this is the comical amusement it provides me, as well as trying to figure out the shifting sentiments of the real powers behind the presidency. There seems to be a war going on amongst them, ...as they themselves try to figure out which candidate they want to support. I think they think Obama has betrayed them, and cannot be trusted to do their bidding, so they're going to throw Romney in instead. There are a bunch of serious mad men running things... SERIOUSLY MAD!
