a hardcore gym. About 30 IFBB pros train there (mixture of bodybuilding, physique, figure, and fitness). No huge names or anything. Many local people to the area.
But, I can feel the hardcore environment and I am getting huge. The progress is beyond words.
Today's shoulder workout:
Dumbbell Presses
Machine Side Raises
Barbell Front Raises
Reverse Pec Deck
Barbell Shrugs

Good. But are they taking extra precautions to keep everything disinfected? Otherwise, bring your own disinfectant and spray everything down before you use it.

Yes, and they are extremely strict. You are not allowed to train unless you bring your own towel and it has to be on the machine/bench at all times.

I am freaking motivated as all hell. I might have to turn pro. Who knows where this will take me. It could lead to new doors in terms of career path.

The Coronavirus doesn't want any part of my immune system!

Hardcore gym-arm blasters only :D

Really?
-
Really?
Yup. Everyone is required to bring a large towel and have it with them at all times or they are not allowed to train.

This is standard here in Australia, the large towel...
-
Is it a white towel of the Kai Greene signature variety?

Well, that certainly puts my mind at ease. People bringing their own filthy, snot and sweat ridden towels to lay down on the equipment. 24 hour fitness provides freshly washed towels for people to use while working out in their gyms.

How do you know the gym is giving you freshly washed towels? You have no evidence to justify your statement. Just like I really don’t know if people are bringing dirty or clean towels in.

You think the gym provides them with dirty towels? That they don't have any kinda laundry service going? Does that sound reasonable?

If someone walks into a gym, gets a freshly new towel, wipes their sweat and nose on it within 5 minutes of their workout, their towel is no longer any more sanitary than one that was brought into the gym already dirty.
Hence, it likely matters little. His initial statement sounds very unreasonable.

What if all they do with the towel is wipe their ass with it? Then it's good to go

I agree 100%

A towel might help with skin infections but will do nothing to prevent you from getting a virus. Every handle in every gym is contaminated with bacteria and viruses. Wash your hands and don't touch your face.

Are you saying that freshly washed towels from 24 hour fitness won’t do much, despite them being freshly washed?
-
Wipe the machines down, don't touch your face, wash your hands your gtg....

Which I do.
So, my already dirty towel will not make any difference when compared to a freshly washed towel at 24 hour fitness in terms of reducing my chances of getting RobCoronaVirus-19?
I name COVID-19 after Robcguns since he has it.

Freshly washed towels or any other items from the laundry smell fresh. Dirty, sweaty and snot loaded towels smell bad. That's how you know.

This will have zero influence on whether one gets the COVID-19. So, it really does not matter.

I just feel in a gym environment there's a risk of a lot of spread in the air do to a lot of huffing and puffing, much more so than in other circumstances. But also some gyms are pretty big with good air circulation, nothing like being stuck on an airplane...
If you still feel you need to go to the gym, might want to pick a time of the day when it's less crowded and maybe shorten your work out and try not to touch your face too much and wash your hands afterwards.
That being said, for the US with a population of 327 million people there' only, so far about 3000 total cases, now the actual number is likely higher, but still.

I doubt it would have much influence on whether someone gets COVID-19, but my guess is that it has more than zero influence. Anyway, only a small percentage of people go to a gym or club to exercise. So yeah, towels or no towels at the gym will not make a noticeable difference in the spead of the coronavirus. It hasn't stopped me going yet.

Are you saying we can get coronavirus from sniffing a freshly washed towel from 24 hour fitness? Do the members know about this?

But, if you received a freshly new towel and wiped your face with it within 5 minutes of working out, then at that point, there is likely no difference between both towels. Thus, your original statement about using freshly new towels vs. pre-existing dirty ones, did not really make sense.
