thats insanely dumb
He says these things to score points with his voters who are this dumb.
Ted Cruz is a Sophist...a rhetorician...winning the argument is what he wants, nothing else...He is also not a scientist.
-
Dumb - can they not speak??
Perhaps you're a bit confused on a lot of levels, because if you actually understood basic economics, and not the latest Tweet from a former bartender - you'd know that Cruz is 100% correct.

Well considering my actual degree is a BA in Economics,...please,....enthrall me and expand on this
-
This dumb broad is only in it for herself, like most politicians. If she did have any good intentions, they went out the window once she got a a taste of the power, social influence, and money her position brings.

Well considering my actual degree is a BA in Economics,...please,....enthrall me and expand on this
Wow - If that is indeed the case, perhaps it might be time for a refresher course!

so tell us what difference it makes being in the Paris Climate agreement ?

ok listen
if I am wrong I will admit I am wrong, which it seems I am due to not understanding it
I then asked you to explain it, because you seem to know, so I look at it as a learning for me
but you just ramble on about my inability to understand it instead of actually explaining it to me
so really, it appears we both dont understand it
Embrace the fact I admit Im wrong and teach me something

Deal! But first, I ask that you actually read the Paris Accord...then I'll be more than happy to have that conversation with you.

sigh. Its cool. Like most people on this board you simply cant admit you dont know. There are tons of egos on this board who wont admit they are wrong or dont know (Coach is runaway leader). I will always admit Im wrong or dont know and see it as an opportunity to learn something I was wrong about. you on the other hand just present yourself as a know it all who really doesnt know. All good its pretty standard for this board

Once again, another irrational response based in ignorance Why would I waste my time trying to explain anything to anyone without their having a basic understanding of the subject (and not that based in social media)?? Please, educate yourself regarding anything you plan on lending an opinion to...it's a way better look!

yes, admitting im wrong and looking to learn via explanation from someone supposedly knowledgable of the subject is super irrational. I mean really, its borderline insane. Its cool, you just dont know but want to appear smart. I get it. Its a trait of this site

Here's just the tip of the iceberg:
1) Cost to U.S. taxpayers. The direct cost to U.S. taxpayers of the Paris Climate Treaty and GCF is very high since former President Obama unilaterally pledged to give $3 billion dollars to the fund and has already sent hundreds of millions abroad.
2) Increased energy costs for U.S. consumers and businesses. If the Paris Climate Treaty moves forward, as does the accompanying regulations proffered under Obama, American consumers will see costs skyrocket. The costs of combined measures such as the Clean Power Plan and CAFE standards would amount to the same as a $30 per ton carbon tax, or $20 billion in annual costs. Household electricity costs are projected to increase up to 20%, and an average family of four would see total income loss of over $20,000.
3) Puts U.S. at a competitive disadvantage. This agreement will cost the U.S. an estimated 6.5 million jobs by 2040 and reduce GDP by over $2.5 trillion, putting the country at a huge disadvantage to countries like China, India, or Russia. Also, these countries, which are signers of the agreement, are allowed to increase or have no cap on their emissions of greenhouse gases. For instance China has asserted its emissions will “peak” around 2030 putting the U.S. economy at a severe economic disadvantage in the interim and moving forward.
4) Paris Climate Treaty will have negligible benefits to the environment. According to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), which compiled the combined impacts of the various pledges under the Treaty, it found a global temperature reduction of 0.2 degrees Celsius by 2100.
5) The Paris Agreement is a Treaty and needs to be ratified by Senate. Since the Paris Agreement is a signed agreement between 195 countries for a similar goal it can be defined as a treaty and should be subject to a vote by the U.S. Senate. This is stated in Article 2, Section 2 of the United States Constitution where it says, “He shall have Power, by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate, to make Treaties.”

Cruz would wipe the floor with Cortez on any public debate.
It would be like a MLB team playing against a Little League squad.

The point of AOC's tweet is that the Paris Agreement is NOT an agreement with Paris citizens, it was an agreement SIGNED IN Paris.
The point of the treaty is that it puts all signatories in the position of working towards particular climate goals without a built-in disadvantage. MIT released a statement clarifying those numbers that were taken out of context. The fact that the agreement wasn't ratified by the senate could be considered a good thing (not that strict compliance was ever going to be a reality anyway.)
-
They keep saying the capital riots etc... and that dumb bitch klobachar was saying today that she can’t believe there was still spray paint from the riots.
Ummm are all these fuckwits really this fucking dumb?BLM caused 100 times the damge if not thousand times and no one said a word. This country is so fucked.I truly hope we go right down the shitter.

No shit. Cruz graduated at the top of his class at Harvard Law School and multiple professors said he was the smartest student they ever had. One was Dershowits. AOC was pouring tap beer in a bar for 8 YEARS!!! after college at Boston U.

Tulsi Gabbard said on Rogan's podcast that there were people in the Democratic party actively trying to block the First Step prison reform act, a bipartisan bill supported by Trump, because they said it would "make Trump look good".
In other words, politics over people.
They should be removed from office.

I get your intent... but to be realistic.. Cruz isn't dumb. He is smart enough to eat Trumps insult his wife is ugly. He is "smart' enough to eat his father helped kill JFK. Cruz is the politician the Right complains about but only if they are from the democratic party. Cruz is smart enough that he will make a career of pulling the right wing tards chains for decades to come and the tards will eat it up. Don't forget he was christened "lying Ted" by Trump for a reason

This sums up the last for years. Now the same people responsible for putting roadblocks up for every policy the last admin proposed are in charge. Good luck.

I only have a cursory knowledge of the man, but to think the Paris accords are related to the people of Paris only shows how little he understands. If you understand little about a topic, it’s best not to deploy that subject when debating.
Now, completely get that his supporters will likely think it makes complete sense, so who knows? Maybe the man is simply deploying language that makes sense to low IQ voters. In which case: fair play!

Most people assume that scientists are honest and moral people
There are ton of scientists that have been imprisoned for falsifying evidence
Same with doctors
How many drs and scientists have sold out for political reasons or the almighty dollar to endorse a supplement or beauty care product
Scientists admitted that the sensors that they are using to test ocean temps were off in some cases by a full 2 degrees
To justify their global warming agenda they decided to keep and use the data that the sensors were giving even thought they were way off

You can't reason with idiots. Corona, Trump, destroying their own country are trademarks of the resident board fools. Their problem is like most North American people's problems, they see everything through a $$$. Typical capitalist Brainwashed swine.

Cruz was making a point. He probably should have just said “other countries” - but the point was that this “agreement” is TERRIBLE for the USA. There is simply NO WAY that 195 countries could be monitored and held accountable. Just think about that.
I am not aligned completely with either party and honestly for someone to truly believe that “their party” is correct - is insane. I don’t understand how anyone can be unwilling to look at EACH and EVERY issue independently. The problem is that 99.9999% of people (at least here in the USA) who say they understand or are educated on a subject - got their information from a biased source.
I am very fiscally conservative, but also agree that we HAVE to revamp our healthcare system. The problem isn’t highly paid doctors - it’s hospital administration and even more the bloated pharmaceutical industry. I think doctors SHOULD make a fortune if they are great doctors. For those that would argue that we wouldn’t have the innovation in pharmaceuticals - THAT WOULD BE AWESOME! There are FAR too many drugs being pushed. We do nothing in terms of educating people on taking control of their health and showing that a huge majority of medical problems can be prevented and even reversed via natural supplementation. I deal with thousands of seniors and have seen (unfortunately only a few) people who are in their late 90’s who have excellent health and take ZERO medication. Those few that I have been fortunate to speak in length with have told me that most of them only found this later in life. One man had cancer in multiple organs - he was in his late 50’s and went through treatment and surgery - but also REALLY dug into taking control of his health. He had been obese like that shizz guy and took tons of meds. Now he is 96 and takes ZERO meds.

I have to disagree with you on the problems with health care and very much disagree with you about stifling innovations and progress in the medical field. Why would you want to discourage making anything less expensive and more efficient? And what do you mean that we don't encourage a healthy lifestyle enough. We have done more in that respect than ever before. Smoking is now taboo and you can get healthy nutritious food at McDonald's. People are far, far more aware of the health consequences in their lifestyle.

I forgot to mention the root problem of health care. It's pretty simple but not simplistic. You are talking about the consequences of an inherently flawed system and not the flaw itself and why it would be a huge mistake to have a completely government-run health care system.
The problem is that it's a third-party payer system. Sure you pay your insurance cost and all that but as much as people like to bash capitalism and free-market it's really the best way to get the most bang for your buck. Competition forces excellence and efficiency. You better make things better and cheaper or you fail.
Think about it. When your doctor schedules you for an MRI you don't go shopping for who has the best deal because you are not directly paying for it. For example, if you want to buy a car or anything for that matter you are concerned with two things, the price, and the quality. You want the best quality for the best price. Only you can decide what that is. That is a first-party purchase. The paying is the one using.
Say, you are buying something for someone else. Say, for a wedding gift. You care a lot about the price because you are paying for it but a little more flexible about the quality because you are not going to use it. Or say you are going to use something but not pay for it. Ever been taken out for dinner where the host says, "Everything is on me." Now that Steak and Lobster is within reach. You care a lot about the quality but no so much about the cost because you are not paying for it. These are second party purchases: the paying is not the person using.
Now we come to third party purchases. A purchase made with money that is not yours for a product that you are not going to use. And that is what ALL government purchases are. Purchases where there is no incentive or consequences to the cost and the quality. There is an inherent inefficiency to such a system. If you don't care about cost or quality then there will always be waste in such a system. Prices will always go up and quality will remain the same or go down.
Economics, because of it's system of rewards and punishment, does more to predict and influence behavior than any psychology course ever will. Even retards for the most part will spend their money better than the government can because if they don't there are real consequences to be had. With the government their are no consequences. If they run out of money they just take more it from the people and cost just keep going up.
