He would most likely beat bhanks in an open bb contest because he's in proper condition. You can't really beat anyone who is "on" unless you are in "proper" condition, no matter what becausee there is a certain amount of condition required nowadays and bhanks is not quite there, might take even 20lbs weight reduction or more depending on where the weight loss comes from.
Again, I've seen a lot of shows, both in person and pics over decades, in all of them a really superior specimen WILL be beat in a show if they are not in proper shape. Like we've all seen shows where a superior "athlete" with superior muscle size, superior proportions and superior everything is relegated to outside top 10 because he just isn't there wrt conditioning. In open bbing you simply go nowhere, in a lineup where the others don't have the conditioning either, sure.
If bhanks looked at the longer term he would continue to diet hard for another 6 weeks at least, then an "offseason" which wouldn't really be "off" much and then a precontest where he attempted to get even leaner. Bhanks knows all this is true but he will think he will simply wither away, and to a certain extent this is true., but it would actually help longer term, and he wouldn't have to pull down that much for a contest if that turned out to be true, but pulling down would help even if not, because you would have moblized those stubborn depots previously. Fat cells are there permanently but can be reduced to "nothing."
I don't remember exactly but this gentleman is pushing 70 if I remember correctly :o Simply unbelievable. I'll have to check the age again... or please, someone else do it for me ;D

If you don`t diet for a show be prepared to never ever place top 5.... unless you get lucky like you did at your last fiasco.
It`s a lifestyle Brian not a bodyweight and measurement contest and dieting for a show is a HUGE part of it.
If you somehow lucked out and won your class and had to face that little guy for the overall,take a wild guess who would win......no nevermind that,cuz you have no idea how contests are won or lost.
The bottom line is that guy would crush you.

Meanwhile here is me in April 2022 2 years ago. My glutes and hamstrings are in great shape. But at what cost? My upper body is gone. My entire physique looks better 20lbs heavier. That is 195lbs. It is not a hamstring and starvation contest. I have no desire to drop that low ever again.
The best I have ever looked was right before my hernia surgery. I was 235lbs and I looked my absolute best. The only reason I am entertaining competing at 209lbs instead of 225lbs is because I think I can win Nationals in classic. I look better at 225lbs. But if I can win at 209lbs they give you an extra 10lbs when you turn pro and I would have 219lbs to work with then which is plenty for me.

Conditioning will beat size that is smooth. Reminds me of the 1976 AAU Mr. America where Joe Means won the best legs and most muscular. He was about 173 at 5'8". His blinding definition made the mass monsters look smooth.

I never said condition doesn't count but to pretend size doesn't count either is just nonsense. Lots of people look awesome by themselves and you wonder how they could possibly look better. Then you put them next to other people on stage and they disappear. You want a blend of size and condition not all one or the other. My chest and arms and shoulders look better at a heavier weight. I am going to compete at the top of the weight clas in whatver division I compete in because that is how you win size and condition. I have enough condition. I can eat less that day and tighten up dramatically it is not a multi week issue. But I want to max out my class. I will hit it just right soon enough. My strength an size is getting better year by year the last few years. But let me see what the Dr says as a pec repair will mean a sling and set me back a bit but if they can't do it maybe I need to be more realistic about my national aspirations but I did win a regional Pro Am with the tear that's not bad. Why rtry and do that again why not get it fixed and try to go further? Or if not call if a day. If I never compete again it was a good win and righteous ending a feel good story.

Then you put them next to other people on stage and they disappear. You want a blend of size and condition not all one or the other. My chest and arms and shoulders look better at a heavier weight. I am going to compete at the top of the weight clas in whatver division I compete in because that is how you win size and condition. I have enough condition. I can eat less that day and tighten up dramatically it is not a multi week issue. But I want to max out my class. I will hit it just right soon enough. My strength an size is getting better year by year the last few years. Look, we had an independent opinion from a competitor who has stated that the NPC values conditioning first, and that all the guys in Jeff's photo would wipe the floor with all the guys in your photo. He even thought you guys might have all been in a natural show. It wasn't being a "hater", or anything like that, just an expert opinion from someone who has been there.

Why not just learn from it and try to get in real shape, which is much different than what your eyes see?

When your conditioning is so far off like all of yours was, as all the pics show, it obliterates any size advantage. This is just common sense and general bodybuilding knowledge.
Look, we had an independent opinion from a competitor who has stated that the NPC values conditioning first, and that all the guys in Jeff's photo would wipe the floor with all the guys in your photo. He even thought you guys might have all been in a natural show. It wasn't being a "hater", or anything like that, just an expert opinion from someone who has been there.
