I'm a big fan. You hear the details of his arrest? Complete BS. Found viagra in his shaving kit and called the police. Brutal profiling.
-
Don't be bagging on Rush >:(!!
Fuck Rush---------hypocrite slob
they had a article in the NY Times awhile back about how he got a slap on the hand for all the illegal OC's and perc's he had and then they showed cases of other people who got addicted after car accidents, had no criminal history and got 20 something yrs for the same sh*t Rush did-
Thats Justice for u------
but really I want to hear some knowledge from the pros on Vitargo and its post workout value!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Sergio used pizza and coke for a postworkout meal.

Vitargo with Creatine is for a during and post workout suppliment....BUT...I don't think it contains protein which is essential along with carbs for post workouts!!

I used it... Good shit.... Buy Ultra fuel its cheaper
4 scoops of that with 8 ounces liqued egg whites is a great time. Tastes awesome 100 grams complex and simple carbs 25 grams protein.

yeah I add 50-60 grams of whey isolate and 10 grams of L-Glutamine to any of my carb post workout drinks--------------------I was wondering if all its claims are really true---Im not concerned with the creatine I know nutrex makes one with it and Atwood makes a pure one
-

I don't think that contains protein either!!

is ultra fuel pure vitargo? who makes it Twinlab?
-

It dont.... Thats why I said mix it in 8 ounces of egg whites ;)
-

It is not vitargo.. It is a simple complex carb mix. tastes like fruit punch. Does the job. Vitargo is a waste of money unless you are carbing up for a show imo. Can get a jug of ulta fuel for 14 bucks. I swear by the shit its awesome.

Meh... more or less. But after using them both I can tell you it does the job. Love it post work out.

Ok, I cannot help but SPAM a bit here. If you want the best recovery product on the market try ETS. It blows anything else out of the water when it comes to recovery (i.e. it truly works and has ergogenic benefits). Period, end of story.

I will take in 100g of vitargo, 20g glutamine, 5g bcaa's and 60g wpi after a workout.

thank u very much Luke----what brand do u use? Does Vitargo help keep bodyfat down compared to other more sugary and simple carb post workout drinks (powders)? Im currently putting on some size-started off from a decenct BF around 9% so I dont have to kill myself when dieting comes around.
Really appreciate the response-------what other Professional sport can you ask a pro a question and actually get a response.
P.S Your a beast Luke---looking good----good luck in upcoming contests

well the NFL does not need another black quarterback

Vitargo is a high molecular weight carbohydrate.
Studies have shown increased glycogen storage after ingestion of a high molecular weight carbohydrate, compared to a low molecular weight carbohydrate (IE: dextrose)
The high molecular weight "pulls" the carbohydrate through the gut, into the small intestine where the bulk of carbohydrate uptake occurs.
This osmalic pull can also increase uptake, and utilization of other nutrients as well.
The only problem is, the lower molecular weight of protein, and other nutrients can potentially decrease the molecular weight of the "meal" enough to reduce Vitargo's effectiveness.
Vitargo isn't the only high molecular weight carbohydrate, and I believe it isn't even the original formula anymore, as the original formula was more expensive to produce.
The "original" high molecular weight that Teh Chad used on Ronnie in 2003 was supposed to be a waxy potato starch, where Vitargo is supposed to be a waxy corn starch.

Lol, he thinks the pros know how to train! Haha.

Have you tried Cellmass instead of Vitargo. Never tried Vitargo, but have tried Cellmass, content with results. Just wanna know if Vitargo is better.
-
Cellmass does not have enough carbs that are needed right after you work out, I use nutrix's vitargo and really like it, I only pay 30-35 for the large size so it's not that bad.

Luke left GB forever, about 30 minutes ago.
Therefore he'll be back answering your question in about 14 hrs.

The brutal geniuses in the supplement industry have you essentially buying a special kind of sugar (dextrose) for your postworkout drink, LOL! I see many of you chug down the appropriate amount of whey isolate along with some glutamine (useless supplement folks) and perhaps even a special kind of creatine. Unreal! Let me ask you a question: Are ya huge yet? If not then why not run out and spend your hard earned money on some sugar, that'll get you huge in no time! Don't want to miss that special "window of recovery"! LOL! The supplement industry OWNS so many of you, over and over again. Odd how the most successful and massive bodybuilders of all time runs out to eat some chicken, rice, beans and cornbread after a workout and totally misses his "anabolic window of opportunity" since it takes several hours before the food is digested and yet he makes great gains. His anabolic window must have an extension I suppose...

Dude, what are you talking about? Anythings gonna work post workout as long as its not some greasy shit.
who tells him... probably Milos, who's seemingly has some good advice as most his trainees are pretty stacked.

it does... its called anabolic support.
btw, when i started using dextrose, glutamine, whey, and creatine post-workout, I recovered much quicker and ultimately gained some size, approx. 20 lbs over the last 4 years. So yes, it works. but you can get dextrose just about anywhere.
-

Please post before & after pictures of the huge gains made by the addition of sugar. While you're at it please tell Coleman he's doing something wrong, maybe he'll hand over all of his sandows once he realizes the error of his ways.
-
Recovery after a workout:
1.) Rest - time off from weights. You can't accelerate this process
2.) Eat unrefined, healthy foods (this can't be substituted from a processed powder)
3.) minimize stress (more significant than you think)
-
I'll see if I can dig some off my old hard drive of "pre-dextrose" era. I didnt start doing that until I was around 20... now i'm 24 so it would be wrong to say the gains are all dextrose of course.
Really, any relatively simple carbs post workout is a good idea,,, unless your dieting and on a serverly altered diet.
I didnt say Coleman was doing anything wrong... but I know its more economical and feasable for me to consume some very cheap dextrose and whey post workout, rather than sitting down for a full course meal at TGIF.
I dont think anyone will argue that get an insulin spike post workout in accompanyance of AA's and creatine would be a bad idea. Theres a fair amount of research to support this.

KFC is the worst fucking shit for you. Their fried chicken has the most trans fat in any fast food joint. And how the hell do you get a pump from drinking alcohol? Do you even lift weights?

trans fat is good for the soul.

Vitargo offers no advantages over maltodextrine, at least not for gym rats. However, it may offer some advantages for endurance geeks who ingest it DURING prolonged exercise.
-
I got myself one 50 lbs bag of dextrose and one 50 lbs bag of maltodextrin.
The dextrose cost me approx $45 and the malto $100.
I'm not buying carbs again until Derek Anthony wins the Nationals.
YIP
Zack
PS DEREK ANTHONY TO WIN THE NATIONALS NO LATER THAN 2022 AND HE IS ONLY 21 YEARS OLD!!!

it takes several hours before the food is digested
It does not take several hours for your body to start digesting foods. You will start assimilating foods you eat quickly. Yes it depends on the food some faster than others, but none take several hours, most food spends less than an hour in your stomach. To fully digest a steak? yes this may take a couple hours but most of the nutrients are being used shortly after eating it.

I use ETS a product from atlargenutrition. This has helped incredibly with getting lean and keeping size. I mean I am maybe 15 pound heavier this year and thats the only change I have made.

We're debating carbs.
Is ETS a carb product? No. It's not.
I like ETS myself, have used it with success before and will probably try to get hold of some more.
But ETS is not a carb.

It is?
Great questions. I would think that the shorter your cycles and the longer your breaks, the safer, less risk you ar taking. Gh, I would say, no less than 3 months, but 6 is better. now, I have heard of this one guy, you guys might know him(his nickname is "The elephant"(LOL) He has gone as long as 1 year without stopping, in the past using low dosages, but recently higher. it is a bit of a risk, but I understand he just turned pro, so he wants to be the best he can be, and he has had no adverse side effects......... He does like 8ius of growth, and will go about 3-6 months on it.
Or so I have heaard about "The Elephant"..
How long had you been on the ETS?

so basically what your saying is screw the protein shake and eat real food instead. i agree, the protein makes me bloated and soft, i switched to solid food instead of a shake. even though im not getting as much protein as with a shake ive gotten harder, stronger, and had gains
-
I have made the best strength gains of my life in the last year because I stopped taking a post workout shake. I eat rice and eggs after I workout now and I think I will continue to do so.
-
i stopped taking protein shakes this year too and made decent gains.
i will add some aminos and creatine again soon.
but i really think that real food is a far better choice for PWN than shakes.

The whole idea is to get some good carbs and protein in your system shortly after you complete your training. Whether that's done in solid or liquid form is solely up the the trainer himself. I've been doing that for years. Back in school, I'd consume a weight gain shake (Mega Mass 2000) about 30-45 minutes after finishing my workout, usually after a trip to the pool or jacuzzi. I started that after reading an article in IronMan ("The 7 Secrets to Gaining Mass", I think was the title).
The only difference between then and now is that I don't wait as long to guzzle down my post-workout drink and I take some creatine post-workout as well. The drink consist of CELL-TECH and whey protein, mixed together (if the whey is powdered), or I down an RTD, like IsoPure, about 20 minutes after finishing my CELL-TECH.
I'm pleased with the results. It's been working all this time and I see little reason to stop now.
Edit - The title of that article was "The Seven Sacred Rules for Packing on Muscle Weight You Should Never Break".
-
exactly, just be a fucking man and EAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What makes you think that folks aren't doing that? I usually have dinner with my wife and kids after I come home from the gym. But, this is AFTER I've consumed my post-workout drink(s).

I thought this "anabolic window of opportunity" lasted 30-45 minutes. That would give Coleman plenty of time to hit his favorite restaurant and chow down. Of course, he has access to all those nice BSN supplements, which he can easily consume on his way to the Black-Eye Peas Restaurant.
Since he frequents the place often, odds are that Coleman pre-orders his food, which is waiting for him when he arrives.
The bottom line is this: Whether in solid or liquid form, post-workout nutrition is a MAJOR factor in stimulating growth. Get some nutrients in your body as soon as possible, end of story. Despite what some would like to believe, nobody is any more or less "hardcore", because of the method in which he chooses to get those nutrients into his body.
-
do you cook them together or separate?
I try to do it different every time. I usually have five eggs (whole) and two cups of rice and I will put some green onion on it for flavor. A little hot sauce doesnt hurt either.
