What is this 'might' nonsense. We need sharp evidence good or bad. Heck, shots of pizzas and call girls showing up at the motel will be priceless as well.

If you are patient you might get a photo of Venom Vince applying a Carolina Cobra hold on some persistent cab driver demanding his fare! With this much hoopla on the show what are the odds Melvin will even show up? He is a smart dude if he doesn't.

the Mountaineer is a good show, I did it last year placed 2nd in heavies, open div.

...thought Vince would go for the Jr's but hey, what the hell

I know I can't make the finals but I might try to make it down there for prejudging. If I make it, I will try to take some videos of Vince on my digital camera. Hey Spike, do you remember about how long prejudging lasted last year? It starts at 10:30 so what time do you think it might be over. I was just wondering because it is a 2.5 hour drive for me and I have to be somewhere at 4.

if you are going for him he will go out shortly after 11am or so b/c they do the pre-judging in reverse of the night show...so Vince would go on first-if he is in the open div. like he said he is--my family lives off 321 and I'm go to school in NC--the whole show with the women and all, last year was a good turn-out for an NC show, would go until about 1:30-2pm latest

Just put them on photobucket or tinypic.com and link them back here.

Seriously... get lots of pics..... you can be the official Getbig.com reporter at the Mountaineer.  Vince is staying at the Scottish Inn in Boone, NC....  I think you should go there and get a pre-competition interview!

We are being represented by amateurs there. What is this nonsense about videos. Remember, one photo is worth a 1000 words. Get up close and fill the frame in the LCD.

There are two Scottish Inns in Boone.

We have to assign backup photographers to cover the show. Venom Vince might have logged on as a new gimmick account to fool us haters and that way we will think the show is covered when it won't be. There is no way any guy with half a brain would even dare show up in posing briefs with this much attention on the show. Unless, .......naw, 195 is not going to be much different from what we saw before. Someone should hand out empty plastic soda bottles to his 'fan' club.

Here are the motel details:  782 Blowing Rock Rd. Boone, NC 28607 Phone number: (828)264-2483

If our roving reporter can get some clear photos at the prejudging then a video at night should be popular if uploaded to U-tube! Occasions like this have to be recorded for bodybuilding fans everywhere.

I was coming onstage with a bumblebee outfit (got the idea from Tre) but the suit was damaged on delivery.  I'm going to Earshot today to listen to some beats but if I don't find anything, I'll just use some classical and just hit my 8's.

And no, I didn't miss my carbing up this time.  Having rice cakes with jam and peanut butter right now.  Did however miss out on some contest techiniques I could have used instead of doing the split routine training but I'll use them for the Carolina Clash

It wasn't a huge Kamali-style suit, merely some black antennas, yellow posing trunks, glasses, and I was going to wear black shoes and socks.

I do have some backup trucks coming today which are flex-cut blue but I plan to do the morning show in some classic white posing trunks.  I'll wear the blue for the night show or my black trunks

If you folks wish to meet me, I'll be weighing in on Saturday in the morning.  I'm going to check into my hotel around 2pm Friday and chill out until then.

And the idea of bothering the promoter just to find out where I am is a little creepy if you ask me.  I wouldn't be surprised if their's a crowd of people in bumblebee outfits waiting outside my hotel.

Yes, white posing trunks have to be made since they are generally not used and they are much more expensive.  However, I do have a pair

You should be drying out pretty good by now.

Most people look the most impressive in room pics on thursday.  Once you start putting tan on, the room isn't bright enough to look sharp.  You need the stage lights with the tan.
So, you're probably looking pretty freaky in your room right now.

I'm gonna try to get down there for prejudging too. Do you all want to meet up sometime in the morning so we can discuss the gameplan for getting all the Vince footage we can. Maybe have people taking pics from different angles in the auditorium and then one of us could try to get some video footage of the man himself. Send me a pm.

Odds are Goodrum ain't showing. Only a fool would be there at prejudging. The bumblebee trunks naturally never showed up, either. There is no way he can 'win' anything by enterring. At best he can minimize the damage. We can't leave this important occasion to willing lads from the Carolinas. Does anyone in that state even have a digital camera? Maybe I have watched too many Jerry Springer Shows where they play that hillbilly music when guests announce they are from there.

I think we can expect him there as a spectator. If he stays at the motel then that would be a good place to catch any candid photos of deliveries, taxis, and call girls, etc.

If you hear a commotion outside in the middle of the night make sure you investigate. Bring your camera set on flash. If some taxi driver has an appointment for Goodrum then get assistance from the management to find him. Record everything. This will be the scoop of the year. Ditto for pizza boys and call girls.

When I study Melvin's 2004 physique I can see some muscle and separation in his arms. Frown is superb. Then I look at the rest of his package and I swear I break out laughing. Examine the photo and see if this happens to you. Maybe if he wasn't so qualified re nutrition and training we might go easier on our buddy Goodrum. Looks like he will be bringing home the bacon again.

I just checked in and practiced some posing in the mirror.  Everything looks fine and I'm problably around 6 or 7% bodyfat although looking in a hotel mirror isn't the same as being onstage.  I'm eating 8oz steak and half a grapefruit every 3 hours so I'm feeling great and the water is flushing out.  The niacin burned like like a fucker and I woke up sick as a dog but it got rid of most of the water under the skin.  I could be more tighter but as I do more shows, I'll get better and better.

My extra posing trunks came in and they sent crushed satin blue which makes them worthless since only solid colors are allowed.  But I brought extra's so I should be fine.

As far as my stars are concerned, whether they are blue or yellow doesn't matter.  I feel great to get back onstage after 2 years and do just as well as I did in wrestling

I notice that Goodrum has more stars than I have. That must make him confident. If Goodrum comes out of this smiling he will have made stooges out of all of us!

You won the Canada. Did you ever get any Pro Card?

Well, there you have it folks, Melvin is suffering for all of us. I wonder if Niacin burns is in that sports nutrition course? His preparations read like that of a true professional. In my day we had no such knowledge. So I am expecting amazing things from 'Venom' Vince. He will be back up there on stage where he belongs.

Has there been any sightings of the gifted one? 7 to 8 per cent bodyfat is a huge difference from 2004. We should see a 6-pack this time!

If Melvin is posting from Boone then he is using his laptop. I hope he realizes that computer is worth it's weight in gold, what with photos and info there. He better put it in the motel safe when he goes to the show.

No, its time for me to get some sleep and wake up at 5am for my pre-pump workout.  I looked pretty good from what some people said but I looked around and I saw some open class competitors and my jaw dropped.  I would get my ass destroyed on stage by these folks if I was going against them.

I worked hard for this show and I hope it pays off.

Is anyone out there near Vince's hotel??

I will offer a reward to anyone willing to break into Vince's room while he is out, copy the contents of his hard drive, and upload all the data to me!

You gotta admit, Melvin is bringing Getbig members together like never before. Feuds and hostilities have evaporated to make way for this important occasion. This hasn't happened in sport since the ancient Olympics. Venom Vince Versace, aka Vince G, aka Melvin Goodrum CSN, MFT deserves all the support he can get. Imagine how loud the audience response will be in the novice division? The open guys will wonder, who the heck is that? That place is going to rock even at the prejudging!

Im not one to bash but geting on stage at 7-8% bodyfat even if your natural is not nearly lean enough to get on stage .I competed naturally and I would get get around 4% bodyfat when I competed, so you can get lean naturally .I havent done any anabolics for well over a year, and I am 7-8% bodyfat and I am not even dieting .And right now I wouldnt even think about getting up on any type of stage.I wish Vince the best of luck but at 7-8 % bodyfat the chances of placinf at any show, is very very slim

He claims he is doing the novice. He saw the big guys in the open and admitted he wasn't ready to compete with those guys.

Actually Vince, Boone while isolated, is absolutely gorgeous. We have a summer house in Banner Elk (next town over) & when we're there I practically live in Boone. I love the place & could live there year round ( if I had the money & our business wasn't it Suck Florida). Appalachian State University is there & they practically rule Div II football. If you every get the chance visit it ,I'd be willing to bet you ( & prob 99% of the people on here) would love it.

Thanks for the Boone tourist promo. Maybe we should take a bus-full of Getbiggers next year?

Venom must be apprehensively waiting at the sign in room to see if more than 2 guys have enterred his division. If only two have then he will win his first trophy. His stomach must be turning from all the excitement. I mean, there was no early morning report from Boone, which seems odd, knowing that his fan club said they were going to encourage him. Let's hope the show is a bit more entertaining.

Ah, the Carolinas, they have no sense of urgency down there. Here we are waiting patiently for the pudding photos and so far nil. We should have hired the pro who takes photos for Morrison. Maybe they will have some up soon. Goodrum sounds like he needed to go and hide somewhere. Bodybuilding is a tough sport. Lots of good physiques out there. So it is no shame to lose. I see no point in competing unless one is truly ready. Looking in the mirror may or may not be sufficient to tell. Goodrum has exposed himself as the novice that he is. Oh, he was talking the talk like a preliminary boy in wrestling but he fooled no one and got what he deserved. Lucky for him there were only two in his division. Who would have believed that we can now quote Goodrum about himself: "I looked like shit!" Only me overdid it but was spot on about the outcome.

If it wasn't such a long and boring drive, I would have went, took pics, and posted them that day.  If triple V does the Carolina Clash, rested assured, their will be tons of pics and commentary.  I doubt he will do that show now.

The Goodrum contest was a non-event. Everyone can see that now. Instead of showcasing the knowledge of Venom Vince it has him reeling to the backwoods of the Carolinas to find some peace and self-respect. Even Adonis is bagging triple V for being a loser.

Obviously the photos will be similar to what we saw last time. Were they better ones we would have seen them by now. I think it is safe to certify Goodrum as the wanker he most definitely is.

Cant wait to see the pics!!!!!

So.. No need for TA to step onstage, let the pics be the judge when Vince post em.

If TA doesnt wanan step on stage, then its his right not to.  Well, same as whateva being discrete about his past comps and his reasonings for his wig, so TA has to respect that.

man, this board... some people are overly dramatic. LOL!

Hope ya'll having a nice Sunday!  Im enjoyin the So Cal weather!

The ironical thing is that Goodrum feels he hasn't got good genetics. What nonsense. He has good lines and shape. Just needs a huge amount of size. If you have small muscles then cut up you disappear. Goodrum would have panicked when he saw he was losing size so he would have stopped dieting before he got too small and the result is what we saw on stage. Typical of those with not much experience, his poses are too fancy for his physique. The whole scenario would have been a classic. I love the report of a staredown before the judging. You gotta love Goodrum, he never disappoints.
