it really depends on what you will use it for.

android has more bells and whistles, like live wallpaper, snes emulators etc and can view any video/audio format with the right software for watching movies etc just by dragging and dropping. it also has a great big screen and metal body 

iphone is a great phone, great for mms, great calander etc, great for music and movies if you like using itunes. but you cant drag and drop .avi's and the like. it has a great video camera and still pic camera too. but to get the better programs you need to jailbreak it - which is a risk. ceramic case and small screen ( although super bright, clear and with great colours)

if you just want a great reliable phone with no need for extras go with the iphone, if you want a good phone with the odd hiccup but much more options go with the desire hd.

only jailbroken apps worth it.
iblacklist, you can blacklist on android stock.

i own an iphone and you are correct about the smooth gui, and web browsing, but android has the best web browsing experience in the mobile world - it also shows flash content - apple's doesn't. also the new 2.3 gingerbread from google (hopefully released today) has graphic acceleration built in - not that it was bad before though.

regarding the emulators - android lets you use ps3 remotes, wii remotes, etc while plugging the phone into the tv - in short a snes, playstation etc in your hand. apples versions i.e. snes4iphone, nes4iphone etc are ok, but i hate it that your thumbs cover the screen.

a querty keyboard solves this problem as does a bigger screen ( neither of which are available in an iphone).

Safari is awesome as well.  No flash though.  I'll take an extremely slight decrease in performance to get flash.

Again skyfire browser app. Don't even need to be jailbroken.
The implementation of flash on this app saves battery. But yes it will drain the battery more then no flash.

basically its a galaxy s with vanilla android a slightly better flash ram, and gps, blutooth, and nfc chip.

i was expecting a dual core superphone. 

i think apart from the curved screen its pretty ugly too compared to the desire hd and any other htcphone for that matter.

so if anyone is thinking of buying it, dont.

buy a epic 4g ( which will be cheaper now) and wait a few weeks till the boys at xda rip the software and add it to the epic.

you will have the same phone.

or wait for the dual core samsung with the 4.3" super screen or the tegra 2 phones.

basically its a galaxy s with vanilla android a slightly better flash ram, and gps, blutooth, and nfc chip.

i was expecting a dual core superphone.

they do grow on you.

and yes your phone is the most powerful mobile at the present time and will continue to be possibly until feb, actually some experts claim graphically your phone will even beat the dual core tegras coming out, although will lose out to raw cpu power x2.
