FireFox works very well for me. If having trouble downloading or viewing anything on it you might check to see if you have all the plug-ins (extensions). Or if your computer is up to date. FireFox tends to have better security and is a tad faster than most browser systems for the moment. AOL is a dishonest joke as a browser. IE 6 is out dated tech, while it took five years to develop IE 7. Probably wait a good three months before downloading it, going to be a lot of patches like everything else that Microsoft produces. Opera is solid though I still prefer FireFox. The same browser system designed for North America may not be the exact same as used in Europe (parts of), Asia, India, Middle East, etc. Not only language but culture differences.
On the non Microsoft systems, Apple and GNU/Linux edge out FireFox for security and reliability due to the fact the most high scale hackers have not zeroed in on those OS as of yet. When those crazed hackers do, expect trouble just as bad as on any other system. Apple boast about it's Safari brower but they do encounter increasing problems.
Being a bit dubious about anything not Mircosoft is the Big Lie Bill Gates has engrained in the average computer users mind. More and more business and educational concerns look to GNU/Linux and Sun, or the like, where the licensing of software and products is not so overcharged. Open source codes are very attractive to most companys. Good Luck.
