Damn it was fun.. Sorry to those who missed out.. Melvin Anthony's training partner Tony won the over-all in the bench press contest.. Ann the owner of Reps For Life won the womens class.. Food was awesome too..

Congrats on the opening! Looks like a really unique gym that people would want to visit while in the area, too.

Thanks 240.. I really tried to buy things that I've never seen and I know NOBODY has.. Example: A pullover bench or a dumbbell row bench.. Only thing is you gotta keep showing people how to use things like this all the time..

the second pic is just plain stupid. who's the clown that reckons putting more small diameter plates on some dumb-bells is smart.

1. your entire range of motion is severely reduced
2. they are unweildy and hard to store/stack.
3. they look completely ridiculous.
4. they offer no real mechanical advantage over a machine or even a plain ol flat bench.
5. they need special elongated bars to hold the extra plates and therefore are not really ''adjustable''.

financially, mechanically, and practically those DB's are an abolute BB mong's idea. no thought whatso ever beyond..hey if you can do 8 plates ill put 55 plats on one and do it!....grunt grunt grunt..

Yeah they do look hard to deal with, one arm rows they would work pretty nice, im sure thats all anyone there does with it......right?

you guys are missing the point on the dumb-bells, I am guessing that they are more of a converation piece and to attract attention. Also to convey a message "we are hardcode". This a new gym and he will need as much attention as possible to attract new clients.

Armz, the juice bar should bring in a fortune. $7+ for a protein shake that they could make at home for $1 is great.

exactly....

those are probably 300lb dumbbells at about 4 feet lonf each. i sincerely doubt anyone is going to be doing typical dumbbell work with those....

more of a decoration than anything
