Phil seems to have a not so wide structure- result is he doesn't have any taper in that ab-thigh.

At least need Victors size to be a mr.O.
Shawn just want to justify his possibility to be a mr.O because of being similar body type to this Phil Heath.
i saw same tendency in Milos too. His favorite BBers are always good proportion BBer with thin muscle.
Balance is very important between Mass and Shape.
You dont need to be bigger to be ugly, but you need minimum mass to be a mr.O.

Obviously comparitively narrow.

And yes, in that picture you posted, Phil looks about as wide as a scarecrow compared to guys like Jay, Ronnie, Victor, DJ, Ruhl etc.

In old days, simply there werent tall BBers without lagging bodyparts.
In those days,if one BBer has 250, he was not big but he was tall.And its difficult to be filled with muscle for tall guys especially legs.
From this mean,also,in old time mr.U or USA,most of Overall winners are from middle weight. Not Light heavy nor heavy.
But,now a day,many tall bber without lagging bodyparts like Gunter occupy top spot.
So if you are short,you should be unbelievably huge to knock out those tall guys without lagging bodyparts.

We all know Victor has the size over Phil and Dex, but can he come in conditioned and hold it? He was the best we'd seen him in the Olympia prejudging but wasn't able to keep it. Dexter's conditioning is never an issue and we'll know he'll come in peeled. Phil has put on some thickness in his offseason and if he can match his Colorado conditioning, this is going to be one interesting Arnold. These are your top 3 contenders without a doubt but Branch, Gustavo and Toney Freeman are looking to get in the mix as well.

This will be one of the best AC's in some time.

Anyone who has seen Phil compete knows it's a different ballgame when he is on stage posing, his conditioning and detail give the illusion he is bigger then he is in street clothes.

Ask Dan Solomon, Dan still owes me two steak dinners over doubting that Heath would win the Colorado and New York Pro.

Last time I checked that was the 70'. Way different criteria for judging now than even 20 years ago let alone 30. Ronnie would been a circus freak back than. The whole body type is judged differently now because of the massive drug regimes. Zane or Franco would have a hard time winning one of the small pro shows today, never mind the O. We will never see another Mr O. under 240. Even that's small for these freaks of today.

He knocked off Charles at the Colorado and NY shows... and they were close ones with an 11-20 Olympia guy. I'm sure he has improved over the last 8 mths or so...but he needs 2-3 yrs to build quality thick muscle. As noted...it will be a rip off if he wins the Arnold. Should be on the bottom half of the top 6 at the O.
