Lol, Faustus, sounds like you're offering!
We'll wrestle for who get's to have the whip.
Good to hear you have abs. I know that unlike the Germans, the other Europeans tend to be in pretty good shape as a whole.
Well... Depends how you look at it. Number of fat people is lower than in USA. But don't expect many really good physiques either. Overall, they take better care of themselves i think.
I hear what you're saying about tempting large people... however, I think people have to make their own decisions, and the more you try to point out to someone that they're overweight, the more they wallow and eat.
I don't judge anybody. But i can't stand people (e.g. my mom) who complain about being overweight, or are unhappy about. It's not like you got fat in a couple of months, so it'll take some time to get the fat off, but it's not THAT hard either.
Btw... am impressed you mentioned Nick Cave on the sad songs thread. EVERYTHING he does is sad. Love his voice.
Check this out. A portuguese girl explained the term "saudade" to me. It fits to what i sometimes feel. Kind of weird that nick cave also has it.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SaudadeIn his book In Portugal of 1912, A.F.G Bell writes:
"The famous saudade of the Portuguese is a vague and constant desire for something that does not and probably cannot exist, for something other than the present, a turning towards the past or towards the future; not an active discontent or poignant sadness but an indolent dreaming wistfulness."
"The Good Son, a 1990 album by Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds was heavily informed by Cave's mental state at the time, which he has described as saudade. He told journalist Chris Bohn that "when I explained to someone that what I wanted to write about was the memory of things that I thought were lost for me, I was told that the Portuguese word for this feeling was "saudade". It's not nostalgia but something sadder."
Cool clip with nick cave:
