Really underappreciated, by wrestling fans.
Usually big guys, like say, Hogan, Nash, et cetera, are worthless sacks of shit in the ring.
Guys like Awesome, Vader, Bam Bam, and even The undertaker (back in the day) were athletic & refreshing to see.
Awesome did not get much exposure. He spent some time in Japan, which is one of the reason he was a solid performer. He came to ECW and became Champ, during the "Monday Night Wars" of Raw and Nitro. Around this time, WCW suffered a major shake up, and was on its last legs, and as a desperate ploy, decided to bring it just about ANYONE that would accept a paycheck. Awesome was one of those people.......you could say he sold out, and you'd be right. But, I can't say I blame him, when ECW is paying you week to week, you'd jump at the chance at guaranteed money & raise, for less demanding work.
We lost another one. Damn shame.
I can't believe how many young wrestlers we've lost in the past 5 years or so......
