Doesn't really matter. Look where Branch is compared to Ronnie. Completely different class. Plus I never really guage training hardest to meaning you use the heaviest weights. I think Branch being younger can get away with certain things that Ronnie at 42 might not want to try as he is more prone to injuries.

Plus Ronnie actually lifts the weights, rather than just throwing them a quarter of the way up for like 5 reps then claiming 20 'strict' reps. Ronnie is stronger by a country mile, or at least he was at his peak.

that should be your first clue that your source of info is designed for brainwashed sheep with a 6th grade brute mentality.  I'd also recommend FOX news.

This just reinforces my point. Everyone knows Ronnie is sloppy as hell, but he still somehow looks like a picture of perfect form next to Branch and Jonnie, who never seem to be able to lift on video what they say they can, and generally can't 'lift' as much as Ronnie anyway.

After seeing the Cost of Redemption it is difficult for me to imagine that anyone else out there trains "harder" than Ronnie.  Maybe a small handful of guys train as hard but Christ I cannot imagine many bodybuilders exceeding the effort that Ronnie exerts in the gym on a daily basis.  After seeing the Cost of Redemption it almost made Cutler's DVDs a disappointment as far as intensity in the gym goes.

Love him or hate him there is simply no denying that Ronnie gives 110% effort at the gym and possesses freaky strength considering his rep range seems to always be in the 8-12 range.

What is most amazing to me is that even at 40+ years old Ronnie does not seem to have sustained the type of injuries that you would expect after all the years of this kind of training (although I know he was a bit banged up at the last Olympia).

It doesn't reinforce your point in the least. I haven't seen a Warren or Jackson video yet, so I can't really comment on their form. I have seen Coleman videos, and know for a fact that his form is terrible and jerky. Especially on "The Unbelieveable". He puts 315 and does front shoulder presses, moving the bar about 5 inches each rep. Only on the last one does he do a "strict" rep.

So you can't contrast apples with apples.

Training intensity can be argued vehemontly, because we don't know how the muscle is responding. One person can do 135 on bench and another can do 315, does that mean the person that lifts the heavier weight is more intense? Intensity is subjective to how the muscles respond and the energy they expend moving the weight.

Ronnie comments on his injuries in "The Unbelievable". I think he's hurt his shoulders, back, right tricep, both quads...

I saw these claims on an Ironman Magazine for jonnie jackson:

200lbs incline Dumbbell press for 8reps

245lbs barbell curl for 8-10 reps

150lbs dumbbell Hammer curl for 8-10 reps

675lbs squats for 5 reps

405lbs seated military press for 8 reps

315lbs barbell rows for 10 reps

dumbbell kickbacks with a 100 pounder for 10 reps

I'd say pound for pound, he's stronger than Coleman

I saw Coleman do prymid sets in squats up to 800lbs, 800lbs for 2 reps, that was after doing like 6-8 reps with 700 something. Until I see with my own eyes someone else lifting these kinds of weights, Coleman is strongest!! That shit is just Sick!

you girls do realize that not every rep has to be PERFECT, sometimes even curling, a little swing in that thing to move a heavier weight is ok/fine.   just get it up!  HiYAup!

I like to learning from example, for instance you are an example of how not to lift.

I agree with your second point. However, to disagree with my point when you haven't even seen Branch's form on video seems quite preposterous. Trust me, it's worse. Don't disagree until you know.

If hard training means strictness of form and willingness to endure the fieriest depths of last-rep agony, I haven't seen anything close to Dorian Yates in "Blood and Guts".

strongest  and hardest, two different things. intestsity can come from doing  giant sets all out till u feel like your gonna puk, doing a heavy ass set and then resting is totally on a differnt scale. but they both have there place.

Actually, I have this issue.  It was not a photo shoot, but a "fly on the wall" type perspective on one of Branch's real workouts with his buddy Jay.  It really was crazy weight that close to a contest.
