It actually ties the hands of the military planners. They cannot do things like "play referee for sunni/shiite civil wars" because it isn't about terrorism, it's just about military occupation for a centuries old fight.
ANd this is a funny one - they didn't take the nonbinding one last week. now they have to stand by something.
I don't think it's a good idea for our soldiers to be worrying about confirming al-Qaida identification in a time of trouble. The last thing we want to do is put the soldiers in anymore danger.
I agree, this resolution actually has teeth and meaning as opposed to that non-binding nonsense.
I'm not so sure it's a good thing that Iraq is as bad as it is in a time when we're looking for our future President. Too much politiking going on that probably doesn't have our or the soldiers best interest at heart.
