Sorry, but I call bullshit on this one as well.

The world record for pull-ups are held by John Curd Edmonds, 117.

Pull-up competitions are usually won at around 30-40 reps.

So either post a video, or this claim is IMHO a fairy tale.

Just the way I see it.

BTW, if you prove me wrong, I'll be the first to admit your superior strength and whatnot.

hedge...you dont think you can do 100 pull ups within a 6 or 7 hour period?

I've done 5 sets of 20 chinups...but the most i could do in one set is probably around 35 at the most with a wide grip using full ROM.

Oh, I saw now that I read Abeles' post wrong.

He did sets until he reached a total of 100 repetitions.

Ok, my bad.

And yeah, I could probably get it in within 6 or 7 hours, but I definitely don't think it's some walk in the park, so anyone doing a total of 100 repetitions everyday is really doing some extreme lifting IMO.

For 4 weeks straight some of my trainers tried this.  Once an hour they would do as many pullups as they could (usually 10-20).  Over a 10 hour day in the gym they managed to do 100 and it got easier everyweek.  Now they have increased their 12 rep pullup set weights dramatically and it has made a huge difference in their back workouts.  It's a great idea if you have the time.
