Toney had problems with his passport. This was an old problem which had not seemed a big issue when he signed. I did everything I could at this end and he worked continuously at his end to fix it. Toney had his bag packed at the door till the last minute. We even tried with an extra day so he would have arrived less than 2 hours before the prejudging. Even then he did not give in until the flight had left. I had paid for the ticket and Toney fully intended to compete. Toney, myself and the fans were all dissapointed that he couldn't make it. He is a very competitive guy and wanted to stand nest to Dexter again in Melbourne.
As a promoter I believe that he tried eveything he could to get here. He even shipped his t-shirts and photos in advance. So forget any conspiricy stories. I look forward to working with Toney in the future.
