Depending if you load those potaotes with butter or if that burger is very fatty cut. They both CAN be healthy if you get quality food.

They are not the same thing health wise.

1) The burger has cheese - not fun for lactose intolerant friends
2) The burger has a higher risk of contaminants, E. coli, etc..
3) The burger has less protein per unit volume

You can buy 96% lean beef and make a burger, which has less fat than any steak.

If you're talking about grilling the burgers yourself, I agree that they are similar. Though, one could argue that the protien content will be different because of the source of the meat.

Anyway, store bought burgers that you grill yourself > fast food burgers by a long shot.

I'd rather have a home grilled burger with a nice keg of beer than a steak in a restaurant anyday.
