I will be shorting Haliburton in the coming days. Investors on W.S. are beginning to DUMP the stock bigtime. Haliburton historically been priced in the 10.00 range. The war drove the price in the 40.00 range.......it has dropped 10.00 recently.

I expect HAL to return to it's historical mean price of 10.00 as this BS war winds down.

Well actually since in 2004 Americans really voted in dem (diebold) they must have felt safe then also. Personally, I felt safer in 04 also, I honestly felt safe pre 9/11. Whoa dude. I was just asking a question for info that might shed some light on this.

240, aside from his CT stuff, is very informed on political issues and can back up nearly anything he says. Whether you agree with him or not on his conclusions you can't deny that.

He was making an assertion that when people feel they are threatened they look to a republican to do what's needed. When they feel safe they look to a democrat to fix domestic issues.

We have been in the new "terror alert world" since 9/11. We don;t feel as safe as we did pre-9/11.

Are we safer? I believe so.

Are we safe as we could be? Hell no. We are so open to attack it is scary. That's why i don;t think the threat is what it made up to be at the moment. I think BUSH's move on Afghanistan did much to quell this however i think his move on Iraq made matters worse. But still overall we are in good shape.

I suppose. Bush's response to 9/11 and his resolve combined with Kerry's lack of anything substancial, won him the election in 2004. People probably do feel safe with BUSH. But i don;t think that's why the dems won seats in both houses this time around. It was because of Bush handling of the Iraq war.
