France became the first country to open its files on UFOs Thursday when the national space agency unveiled a website documenting more than 1,600 sightings spanning five decades.

it's not a huge secret anymore. Govts have been leaking things not in the name of pissing each other off, but in the sake of actually sharing what they know.

i pity anyone who just outright dismisses UFOs. They are uneducated.

The US will not speak on it for nat'l security reasons, and that's fine. If enough of these other countries admit what they have, perhaps the general perception will change.

UFO=unidentified flying objects

of course they are real, although no one can prove UFOs are of aliens.

Where there UFO sightings before human beings invented planes???

You can find them in cave paintings, and other forms of art from all cultures. This theme runs through Christian/Catholic artwork as well

Your going to loose that one Cav..they have Mayan/Incan ruins with "alien" spaceship pictures. There is plenty of biblical references as well as ones from the later middles ages and Reniaissance. History is littered with this stuff. I'm not saying eveything is alien. I'm sure most are mistakes then the last few are either sophisticated aircraft or alien spacecraft..uncle sams knows something about all this.

The alien/ET tag is a problem for me too because it draws a conclusion without sufficient evidence. How do we know these things aren't from earth, another dimension, etc... I think they are a geniune mystery but other than that I have no clue what they are.

A lot of those pics we're hoaxes....... what was in the mayas temple doesn't mean anything!
there is no real proof anywhere in the world, everytime there is a video (and there is 10000 of them) it's always blury why? picture, same thing, why? = hoaxe.

there is a place in the states (it's been awhile can't remember), one million, for anyone with proof without a doubt, ufo, god, you name it , get the money....... funny, nobody yet! why?

Exactly, no one denies there are UFOs... whether they originate from an extraterrestial source remains a mystery. I don't believe in hominoid super intelligence being able to travel several parsecs in their own lifetime, retreiving info and sending it back.

this is a stupid question,, but why would someone travel light years to get here,, hang over a corn field in nebraska for a few minutes and go back? why do all these aliens make thousands and thousands of trips to earth every year and not say hello? are aliens really shy? or practical jokers? what could be their motivation to visit earth?
one things for sure -stories,movies,and tv shows about aliens sell.

Why did we supposedly go to the moon?
Why do we have a machine on mars?
Why do we search the stars?
Same reason as them, knowledge, data, search for answers.

every satellite in space right now has a picture of a girl and a guy smiling and waving.. would we go to another planet just to play hide and seek? wouldnt we stop and say whats up guys were from earth, do you guys like football

Correct. I've seen people here say "There are no such things as UFOs", which is a completely ignorant statement. A UFO is just an object they can't identify. Might be alien, might be weather balloon.
