Question for Bob Chick?????

hey Bob as one of the pros with what i consider to be a small waist what do you think of the crazy amounts of calories and force feeding that some pros do and claim to do? my opinion is that that's the reason for a lot of the stomach distention.

Agreed. Aside from T. Freeman, Bob has one of the best waist for a guy that competes over 250 and is 6ft or taller. Milos said it best, offseason is about adding muscle and not just gaining weight.

There are a few things that contribute to a big waist on gameday...drugs certainly play a role, but the enourmous increase of food intake by modern day BBers is also a big factor. Some of this is due to the fact that WITH the newer cocktail of drugs...you are able to consume way more calories on a competition diet than in the old days...thus, the stomach stays big as the body gets leaner.

Another factor is th pre-contest carbing up process which has also been supersized....

No matter what the reason behind it is...nothing will detract from a physique more than a thick waist.

yeah i've never bought the whole "GH gut" bullshit, i'm sure that GH, Insulin COMBINED with the massive food intake is the cause, guys in the late 80's early 90's were using GH and their waists were nowhere near this big.

Truer words will never be spoken......I am old school to a fault, these 260+ guys with 40 inch waists don't impress me in the slightest, probably why I haven't been to a Mr O or Arnold  in 6 years :P

The GH they had back then was NOWHERE NEAR as potent and optimized as the stuff that's produced these days, there was only a handful of labs making synthetic and human GH in the 80's, now there's tons.
